Alex struggled with the feeling of guilt within him as he sipped the coffee while watching her back, and after a moment Vanessa went to place the cookies in the over before turning around to look at him.
She too was struggling with different thoughts in her mind that she needed to say to him, and she wasn't sure if she should say them or not.
"Is there something you want to say to me?" Alex asked, since he had become familiar with that look on her face and in her eyes.
Vanessa gave him a nod, "It's probably not my place to say this..."
"If you feel the need to say it then it's probably your place. Go on," Alex said as he watched her shift uncomfortably from one foot to the other.
