Chapter 41: Pulling Back (2)

The five Paladins walked up to the busy man with questioning looks. "What is happening, Daniel? Why are we pulling back to orbit?" Manuel questioned the man.

"Manuel, you all. This is very serious." Daniel turned to the five of them with a serious expression on his face.

"Tell us, then. I thought we came here to find the hidden resources on this planet?" Richard asked.

"Aliens." Daniel replied seriously. "A new group of aliens that completely outdo us in technological prowess appeared and told us to vacate the system. We believe that they have some business here. To be more precise, this planet might be an experimental ground for them." He broke the grave news to the five of them.

"Oh..." Bethany's eyes went wide and she paused. "That means... those places the drones were not able to reach..." Her eyes grew wider and wider as she began to imagine all sorts of things.
