Chapter 64: Chapter 63: The Big Three (2)
[Kaede POV]
"I can't go on..." Ochako whimpered as I healed the bruise mark on her stomach for like the tenth time.
I looked around; I could see that the rest of my friends were also on their last legs. They tried to get back up only to get beaten again I leaned to the right as Togata soared past, crashing into Kaminari, who was behind me. Kaminari groaned before clutching his stomach and fell to the ground
I fired two lightning arrows at Togata but he quickly dived back into the ground like a mole.
[A/N: Queue the Naruto sadness and sorrow theme]
"Kaede-chan...." Ochako weakly grasped my hand: "Use your quirk to take my strength....."
"There has to be another way!" I reasoned.
Ochako shook her head. She looked at me and smiled softly: "It's okay..... Avenge me....."
I wiped the imaginary tears from my eyes: "Your sacrifice won't be in vain!" I declared with determination. I activated Daikoku and drained Ochako's strength as my stamina returned.
"It better not be...." Ochako muttered and she weakly closed her eyes.
"Damn you, cruel world!" I shouted at the sky.
"Uchiha-chan, please use our strength too..."
I turned and saw my friends lying on the floor, crawling while begging at me. I reluctantly nodded and activated Daikoku once more.
Some more Daikoku later...
I stood up and faced Togata. I have become way more powerful than before, but at what cost? I glanced at all my friends who were cheering on the sidelines and sighed.
[A/N: Okay, sad music ends here :) ]
Togata stared at me warily; he tried to stop me but I kept him at bay by spamming shadow clones at him and using Kamui when he was too close.
"Ready for round 2?" I asked.
Togata grinned before going back underground. He appeared from behind and attacked, but a giant ribcage wrapped around me, blocking his fist. Now, a dark expression replaced his usual cheery smile. My Susanoo instantly finished forming as it roared and tried to grab Togata.
I realized now it's the perfect opportunity to push myself further. I gritted my teeth as skin and muscle wrapped around my Susanoo's skeletal frame.
Now, look slimmer, and feminine features started to manifest on its body. The Susanoo now dawned a blank expression, long strands of hair grew out of the Susanoo's head, and she looked at Togata with her bright yellow eyes.
Sadly, I still can't form the lower body of my Susanoo, but this development was enough. The pain also intensified as I pushed myself past my usual limit.
Thankfully, using Daikoku on my friends lessened the strain, and my body should be able to adapt soon enough. But, I have to endure the pain and last as long as possible. I smashed my fists onto the gym floor and dug my fingers into the ground, and I picked up multiple small boulders as I smushed them together and threw them at Togata like a baseball.
[3rd POV]
Mirio slipped back to the ground and the rocks collided with the walls behind them, forming multiple large dents. Things were looking bad for Mirio as he had to hold his breath for much longer because of Kaede's relentless attacks, and he was increasingly exhausted.
Mirio's speed became slower, and his power became weaker. They had been fighting for so long; Mirio again came out of the ground and knelt on one knee, gasping for breaths. Kaede was also exhausted, she had used up all her borrowed strength, and Kaede's Susanoo disappeared. She stared at Mirio while breathing tiredly as tears of blood ran down her eyes.
"You're getting pretty tired now, Togata-kun. I suggest you should give up." Kaede wheezed.
"I can say the same for you," Mirio responded while panting.
"Let ends this once and for all! Kaede shouted.
Mirio smirked: "That makes it the two of us!"
They slowly got back up before using the last ounce of their remaining strength and launching themselves at each other.
"Rasengan!" Kaede yelled as she pointed her sphere made of chakra at Mirio.
Her arm fazed through his shoulder as Mirio took this chance and used his full force and drove his fist into Kaede's stomach. But Kaede expected this as she used her small amount of chakra to create a flimsy Lightning Chakra Mode. Mirio's punch went through her armor but it lessened the force and Kaede tanked the hit as she clenched Mirio's arm with her other hand, not letting go.
Electricity traveled into Mirio's body and broke his concentration from the electric shock. Kaede took this chance as she jumped and twisted her body in midair. She then drives the Rassengen straight into Mirio's back.
*Boom!!!*
Everyone covered their face from the massive gust of wind. Once things settled, they saw Mirio and Kaede lying on the floor, next to each other.
They coughed and groaned in pain. Kaede suffered a pretty hard hit in her abdomen while Mirio suffered the same amount of damage in his back. Everyone quickly ran to them to check up on their injuries, but they were surprised to see Mirio and Kaede laughing at each other.
"Seem's like I won this one!" Kaede said.
"What are you talking about? You fell first!" Mirio countered back.
Both winced from the pain, but their joyful expression didn't leave their faces.
"Let's call this a draw," Mirio suggested.
"Agreed..."
Kaede's friends sighed at their childish behavior. They let the two rest for a bit as Kaede quickly recovered and healed the damage to Mirio's body. Mirio then finished his talk on hero work studies. He also gives a more detailed explanation of his quirk and how the experience of being a hero makes him this strong.
When they found out that Mirio got this powerful by using his experiences from being a hero, a small flame was lit in their heart. They were now more excited than ever to get recruited for hero work studies as soon as possible.
"Uchiha-chan sure did a number on you, Mirio," Tamaki said as the Big Three watched the class of heroes leave the gym.
"She must have trained as hard as you did, no, maybe even more than that!" Nejire exclaimed.
"You're right... I bet she will easily surpass all three of us in no time." Mirio commented.
All three of them smiled. The Big Three were happy to know that future generations of heroes would be very powerful.
