Chapter 52: 52
Brandon and Lander were waiting for them at the VIP room inside the hotel.
Augustus called to inform them that there will be an additional person.
The two just shrugged and informed the service staff.
Not long after they arrived at the lobby, Alice came.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." She apologized.
"Don't fret about that. We arrived not long before you came. We just sat on the lobby to avoid from certain people." Louise explained.
"Let's go. They are waiting already for us." Louise added.
Alice raised her brows upon hearing her explanation. She didn't tell her about the small conflicts she encountered outside.
Augustus stood up and Louise followed the suit. Augustus picked Louise hands and placed it on his arms. Alice walked beside Louise and she couldn't help but notice the subtle change of atmosphere between the two.
Ehem. Sounds like the giant iceberg finally made his move.
She wordlessly walked alongside with them and many noticed it as they were quite a visual feast.
The Winter Hotel were one of the businesses of Augustus under his own name. Thus, the service quality is top notch and the security as its highest.
The people who usually stayed here were either big businessmen or politicians.
Aside from the ocassional stares that they got, nobody came to greet them.
They walked on the corridor without much fanfare.
Shortly after, they arrived at the VIP hall. Augustus pushed the door open and let Louise and Alice walk in first befor he closed the door behind him.
Brandon and Lander were sitting on the couch while playing chess for fun while waiting for them.
When the door opened, they craned their necks and saw it was Louise and another young woman with him followed by their own boss and friend.
"You're finally here! I'm starving!" Lander exclaimed without caring about his face.
Brandon stayed silent. He will not comment about how brash this man could be. He elbowed him secretly to remind that there was another guest.
"Ohhh. Who was this sis-in-law?" Lander asked without finding that what he said earlier is shameful.
Alice snickered with what Lander said. Louise eyed him and this made the man shut up.
"Ehem.... Sorry, out of habit..." Lander said sorry but his face said otherwise.
Augustus made no passing comment with what Lander had said and went straight to the service line.
"Serve the food." He ordered.
Louise side-eyed him but didn't answer. She walked towards the table and sat down. Alice followed after her while laughing at Lander's petrified face.
He noticed that the more Louise spent time with hiss boss, the more they act the same. That stare of hers made him scared.
After a few minutes, there was a knock on the door and Brandon opened it. Seeing that it was the food they ordered, he opened the door wide for them to enter.
About 5 service staff were carrying different dishes and the sixth pushed a trolley containing a two layer cake on it.
Augustus sat beside Louise as usual and helped her place food on her plate.
He poured a little bit of wine in her glass and he then filled his glass to the brim. A waiter on the side poured wine for the other three.
This warrant looks from the two men. Augustus seldom drink. This ocassion really made the man happy.
If they had known that Augustus finally made a move and was readily accepted by Louise, they probably get a band to celebrate.
He raised his glass and offered a toast.
"To a healthy and happy Louise."
