56.41% The Heiress (Louise Agatha Morgan Ye) / Chapter 44: 44

Chapter 44: 44

Augustus barged in the room. His anger was at the highest point.

"What happened?" He bellowed.

That scream was from Louise.

Dr. Moore pushed his glasses up and walked towards the angry man.

"Mr. Ye, it was just a test..." Dr. Moore shook his head.

"Then why she's frightened?" He asked. He grabbed his collar and pulled him.

His menacing eyes caused the doctor to be stiff for a minute. Then he calmed down for some reason.

"I just want to test if how deep her trauma. I didn't mean any harm. I hypnotized her for a bit but her emotions were volatile..." The doctor was explaining while his feet almost dangled.

"Augustus, calm down. Let's calm down alright. She's more important." Brandon stumbled upon Augustus grabbing Dr. Moore's collar and was about to punch him.

He harshly put the doctor aside and walked towards the bed.

Louise was crying. Her red eyes pained Augustus.

"No. No ... I'm not a jinx. I'm not a jinx. I didn't kill my Mommy... No... Don't take my dad away... Don't..." She incoherently mumbled as she was hugging her knees on the bed.

Augustus approached her with caution. When he noticed that the woman was out of her mind to notice him, he sat on the bedside facing her.

"Louise...." He gently called out. He patted her head gently.

The woman looked at him with a blank face. Her glittering eyes were nowhere to be seen, replaced was a dead pair.

"Sshhh... Don't cry. If you cry, you'll be ugly..." He didn't really know how to comfort her nor he had comforted any other woman.

His coarse thumb wiped her tears away gently. The more he wiped her tears, the more it fell. He didn't know how to stop it so he just hugged her.

She didn't stop crying immediately, when she's in his arms, she struggled lightly but the man refused to let go.

Never in this life and the next life.

"Stop crying." He coaxed her gently. He carressed her head softly.

After 30 minutes of stabilizing her emotions, Louise stopped crying.

Her puffy eyes ached him.

He gave her a glass of water and tucked her in but she refused to let go of his shirt.

This made him smile but this kind of insecurity was not a joke. For now, he need to talk to the culprit.

"Be good, I'll just talk to the doctor."  He coaxed lightly but she didn't relent, instead she grabbed his hands tightly.

This made the man stiffen. This action of hers supposedly could make her happy but in this situation, it only made him pity her more.

The whole torment that she was in were caused by that two scheming bi*ches.

He sat back on the bed and gently caressed her head.

"I won't leave. Be good, sleep alright. No one will harm you again. We will make them pay..."

Brandon guarded the door the whole time refusing Dr. Moore out.

"Dr. Lei, what's the meaning of this?" He asked tentatively. He pushed his glasses up obscuring his real thoughts.

"Can't you see?" Brandon retorted with a hint of sarcasm.

"I just performed some tests on her, you don't have to be so uptight about it..." Dr. Moore struggled his way out but Brandon didn't cave in.

"Dr. Moore, are you under of someone else's order?" Brandon asked as they scuffled by the door. His question made Dr. Moore panick and it didn't go unnoticed by Brandon.

He smirked.

"Who was it? Tell me when I'm still being nice to you." Brandon pushed him to the wall.

"W-what are you saying Dr. Lei?" He tried to feigned ignorance.

But the more he acted this way, Brandon's suspicions became stronger.
