Chapter 54: Chapter 54

(I went through a slightly different process in translating and fixing errors. If you find any mistake in the words or something that should be changed, don't hesitate to tell me and I will correct it. I will give credit to whom it may concern for the help. Thank you very much for all your effort ^^.)

(POV MC. Time: 10 Days after the challenge with Bingvar. Place: The Terrace of Creators -Temple of Invention).

After planning with Bingvar the date of the challenge, I waited for Helya's arrival. I had other things to take care of first, so I had no problem allowing Bingvar to prepare for the challenge.

As soon as I met up with Helya again after some time without seeing each other, I asked her to help me look for Mimiron. Of course, Helya was a bit confused and quite annoyed with the fact that I wasn't coming to visit her, but was looking for one of the Guardians best known for his confinement...

Calming Helya's anger was not exactly easy, but as the only true friend I had in this world, I decided to do my best so that she would not continue to be upset. I had to take her flying and show her some places that I found fascinating. Not only for the view but also the fluctuating energies I felt in those places.

Despite her appearance, Helya was a great researcher and an incredibly powerful Mage, whose skills in dimensional magics were no small thing. Too bad that this knowledge was rather instinctive, or so it seemed to me, for when she sought to explain to me the basic knowledge behind it all, I could not understand her... I struggled long before I could begin to understand some of the smaller things she sometimes talked about. Our scientific talks mostly occupied my area of expertise, which is precisely the interweaving of energies, the balancing of magics, and the possible use of opposing magics with practical uses. Although it all sounded good, it really wasn't easy and I could only achieve it thanks to my bodily and mental abilities, for the most part, so Helya couldn't quite understand me either.

Anyway, since she was upset I did my best to use the "knowledge" of "dating" that I possessed from the movies in my previous world, with a little "sense of humor" and with the "invention" of ice cream, I managed to placate her and make everything peaceful again.

Not that I expect Helya to hate me or want to leave my friends just because of that, but I understand the reason for her annoyance, so it wasn't a problem to accept my mistake and give her time so she wouldn't continue to be upset.

On the other hand, as soon as we arrived at the place where Mimiron was, after passing several Forged guards, greeting the ones I knew and Vrykul that were around the place, I realized one thing... even though Mimiron was a genius scientist according to my knowledge of the WOW game, he was also incredibly messy. His workplace was in order thanks to his inventions and assistants. I'm sure if it wasn't for that the whole place would be cluttered with blueprints, machine parts, and tools. For the most part, Mimiron was somewhat careless with tidiness, although I'm not sure if it was because he trusted in his assistants or he just didn't care...

As soon as Helya and I arrived, we saw each other's faces and understood the trouble we were about to get into.

Helya had accompanied me because I had invited her to be part of what I wanted to do. I was looking for Mimiron's knowledge of magic and his studies of artifact creation, and I'm sure it would be interesting for Helya to take part in the talks. Well, I hope so...

"Mimiron!" (MC)

I spoke loudly so that the accomplished scientist who was working on some devices with blueprints could turn and pay attention to me. Don't judge his ability to multitask one bit, for at no time did he turn his gaze from his tools and simply said to me.

"Who is looking for me, state your name and reason. If you have nothing important to say, please leave. I am in the middle of an important investigation and would not want any interruptions, thank you." (Mimiron)

...

I looked at Helya's face and she was just as surprised as I was.

-Wow, just wow.

I sighed a little and said to her.

"Helya and Nighogg, the reason for our visit is to corrupt the Guardian known as Mimiron and force him to serve my dark plans for world domination." (MC)

I said this while using multiple voices that echoed in the enormously lit room and I think my words must have worked their magic because for a moment his assistants were surprised, but before I could do anything, I simply winked at them and chuckled lightly. Although I don't know if they understood me, the fact that neither Helya nor I had moved after I said it and the fact that Helya was looking at me while trying to contain her laughter may have given the message I wanted to convey.

After understanding what he had said, feeling the dark magic I cast in the air to give it a touch of credibility and that the whole room had suddenly gone silent and without any movement must have made Mimiron react. What surprised me was that the first thing Mimiron did was to quickly put away his plans before pressing a button and the table he kept his plans on and was working on suddenly disappeared under the floor.

Before I could tell him it was a joke, due to the speed with which he did all those actions, I could only watch as Mimiron seemed to run in the direction of a wall. Even so, before he managed to leave, the laughter of Helya and their assistants echoed through the place.

Mimiron's actions were incredibly fast, almost as if they were rehearsed, but it all happened so fast that it was simply hilarious. Thanks to the laughter, including my own, Mimiron stopped and for the first time glanced in our direction.

(Image of Mimiron, here)

We had arrived and he had his back to us, so he hadn't paid attention to our appearance, until just this moment.

Mimiron's face was one of disbelief, which only fueled the laughter. Besides, I couldn't bear to say to him.

"So you won't keep running away?... I don't know what surprises me more, that you ran or that the speed at which the table with the plans disappeared was faster than you running towards that wall... Hahaha." (MC)

I couldn't help but scoff. That safeguard system was incredibly fast, but why didn't he escape that same way...?

Mimiron sighed after understanding the situation.

"What's the need behind such acts, it's not funny to interrupt someone while they are busy" (Mimiron).

His words were right, but I simply couldn't help but try to tease him in this situation.

"I simply wanted some of your attention and I couldn't think of a better way to get it than simply teasing you a bit. I hope you can forgive me, it's something I couldn't resist" (MC).

After Helya stopped laughing, since she was the last one to do so, I told Mimiron why I had come in the first place.

"Well, I came because I want your help, rather, I come because I want your knowledge about forging constructs and artifacts. Of course, I have my knowledge, which I am willing to give you in exchange for yours. You see Mimiron, I am the oldest "Blacksmith" in this world. I possess techniques of creation that only I know and I am also proud to say I was the one who forged the equipment of the "Elemental Lords" at some point in their history." (MC)

I flashed a big smile at Mimiron. It was my pride that even today, the Elemental Lords wore the armor I forged for them. Even though the weapons and crowns were absorbed by me to obtain the power they contained, and their weapons were later replaced by others, I am still the one they trusted at the time.

Mimiron looked into my eyes for a moment, then seemed to think for some time, and then, having made up his mind, he said to me.

"Very well, I accept. I imagine Helya is here with the same intention." (Mimiron)

Helya spoke on her own.

"The little dragon invited me and told me that I could be of help in the talk and that I could also learn a bit of a "production" trade" (Helya).

I nodded at what Helya said.

"I think Helya's knowledge of magic might give us some ideas, so I told her to come along. I don't know what you are working on, but I also have some projects that I would like to study and maybe they would be interesting to you. In short, I would like us to learn from each other. Who knows, we might find some inspiration on our way to new horizons." (MC)

I was excited. In the game many important machines affected the world of Azeroth in various ways - some of those colossal machines could even draw vitality from the world itself that's how they created the Vrykul, the Terrans, the Giants, and other species. Therefore, learning their form of machine creation would allow me to solve one of my problems with my Elemental forms. I could create a machine that extracts the fifth element from Azeroth in small proportions, as I don't want to slow down the Titan's growth, let alone harm it. I just need enough so that my home deep within the earth can have plenty for me and my minions.

Also, maybe I can learn the form of Spirit Elemental. I might also experiment with some other subjects, though for now I just want to be able to sustain myself, at least. If I succeed in my journey with Aggramar I might be able to achieve the same without needing to build anything... I just need patience. On the other hand, I might be able to build more things than I currently can.

Maybe you can even help me with the Fusion of opposing magical energies thing. I know I have the power, but I don't know exactly how to make it happen. One of the problems with my powers lies in my lack of knowledge of their full uses. It's not that I can't force fusion and create a body, which I theorize, could be compared to the Titans. My problem is that I do not wish to force anything. Besides, if I manage to create a body comparable to the Titans on my own, I could create a body to-

"Well, everything you say sounds good to me, now it's just a matter of putting it into action. For now, where do we start, I have a few questions I'd like to ask you about your forms. Also, I would like to know, what do you feel when you are a being of the void? ..." (Mimiron)

Mimiron started talking and asking questions, and at some point he took out a notebook and started writing down all the questions I asked, looking at me with a lot of curiosity, but with the professionalism that a research scientist should possess. If it wasn't for the fact that he looked like a journalist asking me about some facts in my life, then I would have taken him even more seriously.

...

After a while in which Mimiron just talked and talked, without shutting up for hours, although of course, he said interesting things, so I didn't interrupt him at any time, but I still had things to figure out, so I asked him.

"Hey Mimiron, I would like your help on something, could you lend me a place to stay for the next month?" (MC)

Mimiron looked at me for a moment and then asked.

"Why would you need a place to stay, I never imagined you would need a house... or even a roof over your head..." (Mimiron)

Although he spoke loudly, the last part was more of a whisper than I heard.

Before I could respond, Helya said.

"The little dragon has a competition. A strangely exciting one in which if he loses he will become the mount of one of the most powerful Vrykul." (Helya)

I watched Helya as she spoke and also watched Mimiron's expression, but the latter kept a neutral face throughout.

Sighing I nodded to what Helya said.

"It's just like Helya said. It's a challenge of sorts, I'll hide for 1 month and if he finds me and wins then I'll become his mount, but if he doesn't... well, he better find me." (MC)

Mimiron seemed to think before nodding to me.

"Very well, then you'll have somewhere to hide here. One of my assistants will tell you what that place will be." (Mimiron)

The moment Mimiron spoke I realized he was planning something.

-I may not know him very well, but I've lived long enough to develop a good instinct. Obviating the obvious cliché moment I imagine he wants to do to get revenge for my tasteless joke, he will surely help the Vrykul turn me into his mount. If not, then at least I'll be prepared for possible surprises in the next fight.

Without my noticing, a big smile appeared on my face.

Helya, who was watching me, also smiled and laughed lightly.

-Well, this challenge is getting interesting.

Author's Note:

Things won't be exactly what they seem... things get a little more interesting. On the other hand, indeed, they don't know how to understand a little game XD. I'd like to tell you that the MC has a somewhat... unique personality. What do you think about what happened in this chapter...?

On the other hand, will Mimiron take revenge on the main character for such a silly thing he did... What do you think about that? XD

Well, I hope you like what will happen next. I invite you to comment freely, but with respect for everyone who reads. Tell me what you think, give your ideas and share what you think should happen... there's always something I can overlook.

The next chapter will have some explanations of the Protagonist's power levels in his various magical elements. If you want any other explanations of the Protagonist, feel free to comment, I'll try to explain it as best I can.

Later I will see how I can bring a comparison of the power levels of the different races created by the Guardians, which are called "the second generation of forged".

Well, I wish you all the best. Have a great day or a good night ^^
