**ADDIE'S POV**

I watched as all of the others left for the home that Fawster lived in. We were setting the portable home up in the field that was behind his house. That way, my staff was close to me, in case something happened to them.

I don't know why, but from the moment that I met Fawster, I didn't like him. It was probably his air of superiority that he was emanating. The man was acting like the only person above him was the king, and everyone else was a lowly bug that was crawling on the ground at his feet.

In truth, it even felt like the way that he was treating me, the respect that he showed me, was all just an act. Given the chance, I am sure that this man would turn on me in a heartbeat. And I had to wonder, had Shepherd gotten to him? Had he come here and spread his lies and rumors about me?
