Chapter 43: Assassin

After Dreamer said the keyword for obtaining souls of the 15 beasts.

A white light came out of their bodies and went inside Dreamer.

Then a system notification sounded inside his mind.

[ Ding ! ]

[ Host has acquired 15 souls. ]

"Nice!" said Dreamer with a smile and then he walked towards the body of the Tracking Gryphon to insert a soul in it.

He bent down in front of the Gryphon and placed his right hand on the Gryphon's chest while thinking about inserting a soul inside him.

And soon, a white light spread in Dreamer's right palm and then that white light went inside Gryphon.

After the white light went inside Tracking Gryphon, Dreamer stood up from his bending position as he said the keyword to wake up his new subordinate.

"EMERGE!"

After saying the keyword, the Tracking Gryphon's body started twitching as he slowly opened his eyes.

[ Ding! ]

[ Host has successfully created a subordinate. ]

"Great!" said Dreamer after seeing the notification and then he looked towards the Tracking Gryphon.

The Gryphon was still twitching on the ground as the wounds on his torso and heart were still healing.

While the Tracking Gryphon was healing, the system gave another notification to Dreamer.

[ Host is advised to give his subordinate a name to increase its loyalty. ]

'Oh! Name! I totally forgot about that.' thought Dreamer in his mind as he started to think about a name for the Gryphon.

'Let's see, his original name was Tracking Gryphon and I intend to use him for finding suitable beasts for me to kill and level up. In short, for assassination. So, keeping all this in mind his name should be….yeah I got it.' said Dreamer inside his mind as he successfully thought of a name for the Tracking Gryphon.

"From now on, your name will be…"

Dreamer was just about to reveal the name of the Gryphon but then he saw that the wounds of the Gryphon were completely healed and he was standing on his feet.

"Oh! You got up! Nice!" said Dreamer while looking at the Gryphon.

But then, something unexpected happened that surprised Dreamer.

'Yes, master!'

The Tracking Gryphon replied Dreamer through his mind and this was the reason why Dreamer was surprised.

"You can talk?" asked Dreamer in a surprised voice because he thought that the Gryphon would speak in a beast language but not in a language that is used by Dreamer.

'Yes master. I can talk. But I can only talk in your language through my mind. Otherwise I can only grunt in reality.' explained the Gryphon in a respectful manner.

"I see! Well, wait for a…"

Dreamer was about to say something to the Gryphon but he got interrupted by the Gryphon himself.

'Forgive me for interrupting you master but you were going to give me a name. So..' said the Gryphon in a curious manner as he was eager to know the name that was chosen for him by his master.

"Ha ha! Yeah. I am sorry. I forgot about it. So, from now on your name will be…" said Dreamer with a laugh as he walked closer to the Gryphon and while patting his head, he finally revealed the name.

"Altair!"

After Dreamer revealed the name to the Gryphon he waited for a few seconds to see his reaction about this name.

'Thank you, master! It's a great name.' replied Altair as he liked his new name.

"Liberi! Do you like it too?" asked Dreamer as he looked at Liberi who was standing behind Altair.

"Yes, my lord. Your choice is great. But, can I ask you something?" replied Liberi as he also liked the name.

"Sure. Go ahead." said Dreamer in a casual manner.

"What does this Altair mean, my lord?" queried Liberi as since Dreamer revealed this name, Liberi was very curious about its meaning.

"Oh, that. Well, it's the name of a well renowned assassin whom my father used to tell me about. Nothing much." answered Dreamer while shrugging his shoulders.

"I understand, my lord. Thank you for answering." said Liberi as he again stood silently behind Altair.

"Yeah. And now, it's time to make you guys stronger." said Dreamer with a smile as he intends to do something that will make Liberi and Altair stronger.

'So, I received 15 souls and since one has been inserted inside Altair, so only 14 are left. Fine. It's good enough.' said Dreamer in his mind as he was going to insert these souls inside Liberi and Altair to make them stronger.

'Helix! Can you tell me how to insert souls in my subordinates who already have a soul inside them?' asked Dreamer as he thought that there is a different way to insert souls on the people who are already his subordinates.

After hearing this question, Helix immediately answered because it was not that tough question to answer.

'The same way you insert souls inside Dead people before making them your subordinate. Nothing new.'

'Oh, great then.' said Dreamer as he became happy after hearing that it is the same process.

"Liberi! Come here and stand beside me." ordered Dreamer as he called out Liberi who was standing behind Altair to stand beside him.

"Yes! My lord" iterated Liberi as he started walking towards Dreamer instantly.

And when Dreamer saw that Liberi was coming towards him, he just raised his right hand and put it on Altair's head as Altair was already beside him.

And after putting his hand on Altair's head he started to think about inserting seven souls inside Altair.

And in just a few seconds a white light started making its appearance from Dreamer's palm and these lights started going inside Altair.

Altair was standing still because Dreamer already told him that he is doing this to make him stronger. So, Altair wasn't worried about it.

And in just one minute, seven souls were inserted inside Altair.

But Dreamer still didn't remove his hands from Altair's head as he was waiting for something.

But after waiting for a few more seconds he finally asked Helix.

'Helix! What is happening? Why isn't a level up notification coming?'

'Huh? Are you an Idiot? You inserted seven souls of just level 1 and you want Altair to level up! You need at least souls that are level 2 to make Altair level up. But don't worry these seven souls aren't wasted as it will make Altair soul's stronger. So, you did the right thing.' answered Helix as he explained Dreamer the benefits of inserting seven souls inside Altair.

'Is that so? Well, it's good that those seven souls didn't go to waste and it's bad that he didn't level up.' said Dreamer as he removed his hand from Altair's head and he didn't retorted about Helix's explanation because now after getting familiar with the system and facing real life battles he knows when to retort and when not to.

After removing his hand from Altair's head, Dreamer looked at Liberi who was already standing beside him for one minute.

"It's your turn now." said Dreamer while putting his left hand on Liberi's shoulder.

Dreamer did the same process again that he did with Altair.

He inserted seven souls inside Liberi too.

And after inserting the souls, he removed his hand from Liberi's shoulder as he was thinking that just like Altair nothing will happen with Liberi too.

But the next thing that happened shocked him and made him happy at the same time.

The thing that made him happy and shocked was two notifications that came from the system after Dreamer inserted seven souls inside Liberi.

The notification that made Dreamer happy was,

[ Host's Subordinate, Liberi has leveled up! ]

And the notification that made Dreamer shocked was,

[ Host's Subordinate, Liberi, unlocked his class and now he can use his class related skills. ]
