Katheryn turned her attention fully to Aragon, ignoring Griselda. "You're too kind for your own good sometimes," she chided gently. "These noble ladies see you as a prize to be won, a path to power. They don't see the boy who used to steal apples from old man Thoren's orchard."

Aragon's serious expression finally cracked into a smile. "And you'll never let me forget about those apples, will you?"

"Never," she agreed, her eyes softening with memory. "Someone has to remember who you were before you became Lord Aragon, saviour of the realm and dragon's blood. Someone has to remind you that you're still human."

The last rays of sunlight painted the chamber in gold, and Griselda walked to the table where there was wine. She sat at the table.

Katheryn then said, "You want to sleep with Aragon?"

Griselda poured herself a drink and replied, "More or less."
