Chapter 52: You Win

Penelope looked up lists of what you need when getting dogs and cats on the way to the pet store. When they arrived, she sent one to Roman and challenged him to a race to see who could get all of their stuff first. 

A competitive glint appeared in his eyes. "You're on!"

They each grabbed a cart and she counted down for them. "Three, two, one, go!"

They both hurried as fast as they could without getting busted by the store clerks and headed to the respective cat and dog areas with their lists. Penelope was put in charge of the cat things and hurried to fill her cart. 

She made it back to the checkout lines first but only because Roman wasn't able to find the right size of doghouse for the backyard. She flashed him a triumphant smile and jokingly flipped her hair.

"You win," he sighed. "What do you want for your prize?"
