His soft but restless eyes gazed at her with a burning intensity, there was a mesmerizing smile on his lips that played with the erratic beats of her heart.

She wondered what it would be like if she forgets about all the reasons they should stay apart, what it would be like if she let her restraint go undone and let him guide her to forbidden fire.

Should she really stay on this path, that she knew would only end in devastation?

"I...I think I am tired," her voice was barely audible but he heard her clearly.

Izekiel let go of her waist, and turned towards his guest.

"Her highness needs rest, we will leave now,"

Nesrin paused and peered at him with confused expressions, but Izekiel said nothing more and took her hand as he led her towards the exit.

As the emperor left with his consort, they attracted secret sneers, curious gazes and hidden scorns.
