Chapter 186: The reaper

Ian looked at the woman in his hands and smiled because he clearly knew how capable she was but that didn't mean he was going to let her investigate on her own. He knew he couldn't tell her because with his sources it was going to be impossible to compete with her and for some reason, he couldn't outshine Mary at all.

Mary silently looked at him as she roughly guessed what was running through his mind but she wasn't going to stop him either. The silence between them was broken when Ian suddenly picked her up and as if it was something they oftenly did, her legs immediately circled his waist as she circled her arms around his neck. He was about to say something when his phone rang. Ian was planning to ignore it but the look on Mary's face told him not to dare. He whined annoyingly as he used one hand to support her and the other to pick his phone.
