Chapter 210: Parents Not Staying

"Your father and I won't stay long Claire," Mrs. Greene said while reading something on her phone. It was a message from her brother and Claire's biological uncle. Somehow, her entire face changed as if her blood was drained by some invisible force. 

"Okay, mom. I will be fine. Why do you look so anxious right now? You look so pale!" Claire responded in a worried tone. Even though she was mad, she still could not bare to see the face of her parents getting anxious.

"I'm fine! Dear, we want to stay for the night and accompany you but your uncle is at our home. We have to go back now. He has some important matter to discuss with your father," Claire's mother explained as she tidied up the place. 

'It's uncle? Ha! No wonder!' Claire's face turned dark. Her face suddenly showed a sarcastic gaze.

The awkward dinner was finally finished. Claire and Sofia were now washing the dishes in the sink.
