" Simon, you're early." Aine said sleepily when she opened up the door by fifteen minutes to seven in the morning, her dog wagging his tail beside her excitedly.
He smiled and pulled her in for a quick hug before walking into her house, "decided we needed an early head-start."
"why do you sound so excited?" she asked irritated by how chipper he was, he caught and could help the grin that spread out across his face. his friend was not and had never been a morning person, and so how she survived the dog she had who dragged her out of bed early in the morning each passing day was a mystery to him. but then again, they were the perfect balance, the profound need for each other kept them strong. at least that was how she saw it from where he stood.
he watched as she dropped to sit on a couch, with Dante looking up at her with adoring eyes,
yes, he thought. the perfect balance.
