Chapter 59: Closer than you'd think

Next morning, Celina was declared good enough for the rest of the ride, but she couldn't drive with one arm. As a result, Eve was forced to take the driver's seat, with Xia riding shotgun. Eve hoped Celina wouldn't be in state to pester Victor, and if her personal experience with heavy wounds and the leftover symptoms of her own blood loss said something, she wouldn't.

The atmosphere in the car was mostly grim and quiet as the four of them drove away from the accursed forest, the burned down laboratory and the memories of the previous night; but the latter, contrary to everyone else, would follow no matter where they went.
