Chapter 88: Missing Vampires

"Weren't you supposed to get that on Thursday?" Takeda asked, gesturing the box containing vials of the Sirizan virus on the centre table and Nikolay shrugged as he held his cup steady while a woman bled into it from a cut on her wrist.

He tilted his head at her as she smiled seductively at him and gave her a dismissive wave of his hand. The smile subsequently slipped from her face and the corner of her mouth twitched as she pressed a cloth to the cut before walking out of the room, going to meet the other women who were feeding vampires their blood in the dining room.

"Imani is coming over to my place today," he replied as he drank from the cup, feeling the warm liquid go down his throat, after the woman was out of earshot. He hadn't been able to stop thinking about Imani since last night and he was looking forward to seeing her again today even though the feeling was most likely not mutual.
