Chapter 278: Axel Pokemon Competition Starts
Axel, Agnes, and his uncle Noah stood on a small stage that they had just made yesterday. 14 Pokemons were staring at them. After the Pokemons stopped taking and murmuring, he started to speak.
"Welcome to Axel Pokemon Competition. This is the first Axel Pokemon Competition and it would not be the last. Before I start, let me tell you something about the competition and its rules.
First, the competition would be held again every 6 months. This would be in a single battle format and Pokemon with the respective ranks would compete. So, common rank would fight common rank, rare rank would fight rare rank and so on.
Today, we have 14 Pokemons of various ranks. They are:
Common rank:
1. Pidgeotto. (Flappy)
2. Dragonair.
3. Slowpoke.
Uncommon rank
1. Absol
2. Tauros
3. Venusaur
4. Gyarados
Rare rank
1. Charizard
2. Arcanine
3. Ninetales
Elemental rank
1. Nidorino
2. Beedrill
3. Gogoat
4. Pilsowine
Pseudo king rank
1. Shedinja (Marcus)
2. Alakazam (Light)"
Since Dragonair was competing, he felt bad about Noah's Slowpoke. So he included it too for the competition. After he included Noah's Slowpoke, he felt bad for Arcanine and Ninetales. Arcanine was his father's Pokemon while Ninetales was his mother's Pokemon.
They both seemed interested in this competition and were looking at the Pokemon while hiding in the bushes. So, Axel asked them to join too.
"First of all, we would have competition from common rank category. Remember, your trainers would not interfere or help you. You would have to fight for yourself.
Since it is 'Axel Pokemon completion' and I am including other's Pokemon too in the common rank category, my Pokemon Flappy would have the advantage.
So, first, Dragonair would fight Slowpoke and whoever would win would fight Flappy.
The winner of each rank could ask anything from me and I would do my best to get it for you.
So are you all ready?"
"Pi…
"Nido.."
"Shed.. Shed.."

Everyone started to shout like they were going into a battle. The reward was enticing and they also wanted to show off.
A stage had already been created for the fight. All of them went there to see the fight. First, it was Dragonair vs Slowpoke.
Axel looked at their stats to see who was stronger. First of all, he looked at Dragonair.

Axel could not see the move level of other Pokemons but he could tell that Dragonair had done a lot of training but whether it could beat Slowpoke was questionable.
He then looked at slowpoke's stats

Slowpoke might have already evolved but Axel had told his uncle to not evolve it into Slowbro. Axel wanted all of its stats to be S rank before its evolution to Slowking. Noah took his advice and was waiting for it. Slowpoke seemed to have a diverse move pool and it seemed to have concentrated on its ability training too.
Dragonair didn't have all of its stats on S rank. Axel had told Agnes to let Dragonair use Everstone till its stats were maximized but she declined. She wanted it to evolve as fast as it could.
"Let the battle begin"
Dragonair started to dance in a weird way. It was 'Dragon dance'. This would increase its attack and speed. By the time it was finished, it saw a huge jet of water coming towards it. Even with its increased speed it could not dodge and was hit by the attack.
It was 'Water pulse'.
Slowpoke was a slow Pokemon. So, Noah had focused a lot on its agility stat and it was now A rank. It was not fast as Dragonair but it had improved its speed. The attack hit Dragonair and it was flowing in the air.
After it recovered from the attack, it was ready to go again. It then used 'Dragon breath' on Slowpoke. It was not able to dodge the attack but was able to hit Dragonair with 'Confusion'.
'Water pulse' was a probability to make the opponent confuse and so does 'Confusion'. After the move was it, it became confused for a brief moment. Before it could get its bearing straight, Slowpoke had hit it with 'Hydro pump'.
That move had a huge impact and Dragonair was struck to a tree. Axel had expected the match to be over but after some difficulty, it stood up.
It was not called a pseudo-legendary Pokemon for nothing.
It then used 'Aqua jet', which boosted its speed to a ridiculous degree and came near Slowpoke in just a second.
Slowpoke immediately used 'Light screen' which would create a defense against special attacks but it was gravely mistaken.
Dragonair's tail started to shine and it hit Slowpoke at a blank range. It was a physical move so 'Light screen' had no effect on it. This attack had made a great impact.
Dragonair then used 'Bind' and squeezed Slowpoke tight.
"Slow…", it cried out in pain. Slowpoke was now in a pickle. The bind was strong so it could not get out.
After some time, when everyone thought that it was over, Slowpoke used 'Ice beam'. Some of it had hit Slowpoke itself but some of it hit Dragonair. Fearing that it would do more damage, it let Slowpoke go and then Slowpoke vanished.
It had used 'Teleport'. It then came behind Dragonair and used 'Ice beam' partially freezing Dragonair.
Ice-type moves were supper effective against Dragonair. Dragonair was not able to move freely and this had given Slowpoke time to attack and finish this battle. That was what it had done.
Slowpoke used 'Psychic' and 'Hydro pump' and it finished the match with a victory.
