(A/N. Just wanted to apologize for the fact that this chapter is a little shorter than usual. It wasn't planned but just kind of ended up this way, so yeah sorry about that I guess)
"So...you are Veldora? That's what I am guessing, that is" I hummed as I looked up at the large blonde man in front of me.
"Indeed! I am the great storm dragon Veldora" he said with a fairly wide toothy grin.
(Well he seems a little full of himself but he kind of reminds me of Milim in a strange way) I thought before refocusing on what he was currently saying.
"It is good to see that a phoenix still lives, even if you were not always what you are now" I don't bother asking how he knew about me being a reincarnator but something else about that did get my attention.
"You know some of them? The phoenixes that is" I asked curiously.
"Indeed I did! They were nice people, incredibly protective of their young though" he shivered at the last part as he seemed to remember something rather unpleasant.
"Would you mind if I asked you about them later?" Any information was useful so long as it was something I didn't already know.
"Very well! Ask me anytime and I shall enlighten you with my vast knowledge! Hahahahaha'' Veldora laughed, a full belly laugh that echoed throughout the cave. In fact his eyes were simmering in such a way that it was like he was screaming for attention.
(So loud) I muttered internally while sighing in irritation.
"And besides it is only right that I help my future niece in law, is it not?!" He grinned happily but that caused me to stumble slightly in confusion, in fact even Rimuru looked a little confused as well.
"What?" I asked with a rather puzzled look on my face.
"Hmmm? The pink hair girl you like, Milim. She is the daughter of my brother and as such you should soon become my niece in law, right? Actually, feel free to call me uncle from now on if you wish"
============3 seconds later==========
"Why?" He asked as he rubbed the massive swollen lump on his head where I had just hit him with a large amount of force.
"Screw you!" I growled with my face still flushed bright red.
"Hehehehe...hehehe...hehe" Rimuru giggled to himself but trailed off when I glared over at him with murderous intent.
"You got something to say slime boy" I hissed, causing him to look away while whistling to himself.
"Nope"
"Damn straight you don't!"
"Anyway, now that I know you have not brought another fucking calamity upon us, I should probably head back and calm everyone down" I sighed while rubbing the bridge of one of my horns.
"Sorry for the inconvenience" both of them said apologetically causing me to huff in annoyance.
"Yeah yeah whatever" I rolled my eyes while waving them off with a hand.
"I'm not explaining anything about him by the way, that's on you" I said with a quick gesture towards Veldora who simply shrugged in response.
"Fair enough" Rimuru hummed, this was his mess to clean up not mine and he knew it.
"Oh and before I head out, why can't I get in contact with Great sage?" I asked the question that had been bugging me for a while now.
[My apologies] a familiar voice suddenly rang in my mind causing me to blink in surprise.
"Great sage?"
[I have evolved into Raphael, lord of wisdom. You may refer to me as simply Raphael from now on] the newly evolved Raphael explained, causing me to smile.
"Congratulations"
[Thank you] she seemed happy at that which was a little odd as she is usually so dull and robotic but I just assume that it was one of the perks of her new evolution.
[As for why I did not answer your call, it was not because of your lack of understanding of your new skills. In fact your connection with your father has become far greater than before. In fact you may have realized this already but you both can now sense each other's location rather easily. Focusing on this link will improve the ease in which you can sense this connection and may even allow you to sense each other's current condition as well] I nodded along as she quickly went over everything.
"Now that you mention it..." Rimuru hummed as he seemed to focus on something unseen by anyone, even himself.
Now that she explained it I felt the connection more clearly, in fact I could feel multiple connections that were not as strong as Rimuru's. However there was one, one connection that felt much stronger, even somewhat stronger then the one that I shared with Rimuru.
"Then why didn't you answer me before?"
[I was occupied with other activities at the time] she said without hesitation and I could almost feel her shrugging nonchalantly.
"That makes sense I guess...but who is the other link? The one that feels stronger than dad's?" I asked unsure if she would know what I meant.
[Who is the person that you share a bond with that is on par with, if not greater than the connection you have with your father?] She asked answering my question with another question.
"Milim..." I whispered as a small smile appeared on my face.
"Oooooooooooooooooooooooo~" Rimuru and Veldora grinned and teased simultaneously.
"Shut up!" I yelled as the redness that once covered my face began to return with a vengeance.
"Sigh...thanks for the info Grea-I mean Raphael" I muttered while glaring at the two idiots that were now attempting to act all innocent and nonchalant.
[There is no thanks needed]
"Alright, I'm going to head back over to Tempest now" I mused as I turned to leave.
"Don't take too long though, after all we are having that festival tonight" I said without turning back, I did this mostly to hide the evil smile on my face.
"Oh! I forgot about that" Rimuru said happily but unbeknownst to him, I was about to ruin his excitement with only fifteen words.
"I hear Shion has been preparing a special dish for you and Benimaru all day" I was maniacally laughing on the inside as these few words left my mouth.
"She seemed very excited about it, she keeps saying something about how it is one of the best things that she has ever made"
Oh the look on his face was perfect, no, that doesn't even come close to describing it. I didn't even know he could get that pale or shake that violently in pure horror. Not that I could really blame him for this mind you, after all even the strongest of gods would hide in terror at the mention of the monstrosities that Shion can create and this is coming from me, a person that literally created something called an Abyssal eldritch bear.
In fact I was planning to make creatures out of the packed lunches she made me, to help in the fight against the cult. However, even I had to admit that bringing life to such horrific and nightmarish things would be the greatest sin that anyone could commit. Their first words would probably be something along the line of begging me to put them out of their misery.
"Consider it your punishment for scaring the shit out of everyone and trying to tease me"
"Please...no..." (T^T)
