Zeel's Side (After Ruri Left To Join The Battle)
"Come! Come! Come! Come!" Zeel whispered angrily, his body shaking from the strain of keeping Alice's and Elizabeth's soul confined inside their bodies.
"What are you calling that is so powerful that it can resist you?" Ahmanet asked, feeling the power of Zeel's every word as he chanted a summoning ritual or as Homo-Superior would call it 'Emergent Phenomena using subatomic particle decays utilizing superpositioning with entanglement swapping'.
Ahmanet was not unfamiliar with the act of summoning a creature that refused to be summoned. In the end, it would all boil down to a battle of wills between the Summoner and the summoned.
However, Ahmanet noted that the Summon Zeel was attempting to call didn't even budge a bit at hearing his voice.
"Perhaps another God?" Himiko questioned unsurely, flinching when she recalled that Zeel could now be considered her God.
Zeel materialized several runes onto his body that resembled complex cyber-tattoos "Why are you not answering? Come! Come! Come! Come!"
The runes were supposed to give him the extra power required to summon 'That Being' but still, nothing worked and Zeel was growing more desperate by the second.
The battle had been jumping from one desperate situation to another and every time Zeel found his emotions stabilized, there would be something else to throw him off-balance.
It was almost as if someone was testing his emotional stability or even possibly trying to kill him, which was both likely the case given the Fate Energy lingering in the air.
Boom
Boom
Two loud noises and the fluctuation of Blood Essence in the air reminded everyone that Seth had probably already won the battle between him versus Ruri and Linda.
Linda was powerful but she was too far from an Abyssal Domain and Ruri was as cowardly as they came if she didn't have much power to intimidate someone.
Zeel sighed with a minor sadness at the thought of what could have forced Ruri to become so cowardly. After all, Ruri's blood manipulation used to be something even he feared.
Zeel closed his eyes and focused on Aurolana's struggle that continually bombarded his soul, noticing that Gabriella stood to the side simply spectating the entire battle.
The fights were taking up a lot of his calculation space so he was basically fighting a war on two fronts that was being further exacerbated by the fact that his trump card was refusing to be summoned.
"Why won't you come?" Zeel asked the empty air and finally got a response in the form of strong resistances from two opposing forces.
"There is too much resistance…" Zeel said aloud, looking a Mortal Ahmanet directly in the eyes "We need to do it!"
"Are you sure?" Ahmanet asked, gripping Seth's Dagger in her hands that much tighter "The power will consume him and he will turn against us… giving Seth a new lifeline…"
Himiko frowned and looked at Jenny who was about to die in Nick's arms "You need to hurry… the battle with Seth is just about finished and the girl is about to die…"
"Do it!" Zeel commanded, pulling Alice and Elizabeth closer into his embrace even as their respective divinities burned his skin.
Alice was dying and Elizabeth was dead but their immature divinities were still lashing out in hopes of combatting whatever abnormal state they were currently experiencing.
Ahmanet sighed and took two large steps to Nick's side, placing her hands on Nick's shoulders "Do you want to save the mortal?"
Nick finally removed his eyes from Jenny's black-veined infested face and gave an uncertain reply "How?"
"Easy…" Ahmanet responded, flashing Seth's dagger inside her hands "You need the authority of a God of Death… and you need her to belong to you so…"
"JUST TELL ME WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE!" Nick shouted causing the Death Energy around him to shake and his teeth to sharpen.
Nick was absorbing more death energy which also strengthened his body and made him more Seth-like, which was the ideal state for Seth to take over his body.
"You need to control it!" Ahmanet responded, snatching Jenny out of Nick's arms faster than he could react.
Nick was not to be underestimated as he teleported unconsciously using his Dimensional Authority.
Still, Ahmanet was not a Warrior-Princess for nothing, she easily evaded Nick's attack and plunged her dagger into Jenny's heart.
"This mortal life is a sacrifice to anoint a new God of Death… may his reign be eternal and sacrifice be rewarded…. there is no greater sacrifice than that of love…"
Jenny's body pulsed with blacklight before dissolving into ash right before Nick's very eyes.
Nick was about to attack Ahmanet in another bout of rage but his body froze, his muscle tensed, and the next instant he was spasming on the ground as Death Energy flooded his body.
"You need to control as much of this Dimension as possible…. At least 30% or you won't be able to bring Jenny back…" Zeel shouted at Nick while running the calculations inside his head.
"AAAAHHHHH"
"AAAAHHHHH"
Nick yelled in pain … but the pain also came with new knowledge and finer control of the Death-Energy around him.
Nick felt an overflowing power gathering inside him. He could feel an entire section of the Death Dimension bending to his will and calling out for Jenny from a plane filled with endless water and sand.
Zeel frowned as he felt the approach of Seth not far away.
Thankfully, Seth could no longer teleport wherever he wished due to this section of The Death Dimension belonging to Nick.
Still, Nick's transformation could not be completed so easily. Nick's bones broke apart, his pupils divided into two, and his teeth sharpened and grew longer.
Ahmanet picked up Seth's dagger that had fallen to the ground and plunged the dagger into Nick's back, hastening the transformation some more.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH"
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH"
Nick's body was already at its limits but Ahmanet's sudden stabbing causing the pain to increase a thousandfold.
"Jenny…." Nick whispered, his mind wandering the shores of Nile, desperately trying to reach out to Jenny who stood on top of the water.
"You don't have to get here now… you can do it later!" Zeel shouted angrily and urgently "You need to protect us so fucking [FIGHT]!"
Zeel's last few words carried a certain impulse that triggered a response from the part of Nick's brain that refused to evolve… the part of Nick's brain that clung to Jenny and his life as a mortal.
"[Protect]!" Nick shouted, flashing in front of Zeel and holding onto Seth's fist that was about to impact Zeel.
Nick wasn't even sure how he did it… the world just bent to what he required of it.
"A Puny God of Death that feeds off my power like a parasite wants to contend against the real thing?" Seth mocked, a bit concerned but mostly happy that Nick was preparing his new vessel and keeping it warm at the same time.
"[Attack]!" Nick whispered, channeling Death-Energy into his fist.
Seth was blasted away by Nick's punch but Nick received a massive backlash for his improper use of Death-Energy.
Zeel frowned, hoping that Nick didn't notice that damaging Seth was also basically damaging himself because they were currently in the process of becoming the same person, The same God of Death.
"You need to weaken the barrier protecting this Dimension by 30%," Zeel whispered a command that further took advantage of Nick's human nature.
However, every time Zeel forced a command onto the human section of Nick's brain, he would access the area where Nick's emotions were the most intense – the area for love.
Zeel was inadvertently damaging Nick's ability to love, but he was never a morally inclined person to begin with.
Zeel, Ahmanet, and Himiko felt the Barrier surrounding The Death Dimension weaken just enough to call something truly powerful inside.
"Take them!" Zeel shouted, tossing Alice to Himiko and Elizabeth to Ahmanet respectively "They will slowly heal when 'That Being' arrives so don't allow anything to happen to their bodies…"
BBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM
There was a loud thud in the distance, Zeel, Ahmanet, and Himiko watched appalled as Nick flew past their location like a missile and disappeared into the horizon.
"That was so fucking underwhelming… he lasted like five fucking seconds," Zeel murmured half in surprise and half in disappointment.
Zeel hurriedly tilted his body to the left, Seth's incoming kick flashing across his back and severing his Draconic Wings like a knife through butter.
"AHHHHHH" Zeel shouted in pain, quickly using his nanites to clot the bleeding from his back.
Zeel bent his knees, gathered his energy, and launched his body away from Seth, even going as far as to [warp] several times in mid-transition.
Still, Seth reappeared in the air in front of Zeel with another kick, this time it was a perfect mid-body hit that sent Zeel similarly shooting towards the horizon in the same direction as Nick.
Zeel felt his rib-like helix bone structure crack under Seth's strong attack.
"[Gravity]!" Zeel shouted, attempting to tie himself to the ground and disperse the force of Seth's earlier kick but at the last nano-second, Zeel sensed something strange.
Zeel titled his body exactly five degrees to the right and decreased his defenses just enough to survive Seth's incoming attack.
BOOM
Seth appeared, punched Zeel with enough strength to cause two shockwaves, and disappeared when Zeel's body shot towards the horizon in a slightly different direction.
Zeel could feel his blood boiling, excited by a sensation he had not felt in a long time – A Potential Nanite Upgrade…
However, Zeel could also tell that his body was heading in the direction of one of Seth's scattered soul shards.
There was no way Seth was about to let Zeel anywhere near his soul shard.
Luckily, Zeel had one move that would allow him to reach the material that could upgrade his nanites, but using that move would also guarantee that he die a slow and painful death.
Seth appeared, pulling back his fist at a perfect angle to shatter Zeel's skull with one blow but something strange happened that terrified Seth and made Zeel sick to his stomach.
The chains that were usually comfortably wrapped around Zeel's soul unraveled and extended outside his body, wrapping around Seth as it began to absorb the God of Death.
The darkness in Zeel's soul and Seth's darkness resonated, creating a situation where Seth's Death-Energy was being absorbed at a much faster rate than Zeel initially realized.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Seth and Zeel screamed simultaneously, both feeling the intense pain of the Cosmic Chains.
'Something did this… something more powerful than me… I have to kill him now' Seth thought, his scythe appearing inside his hand as he slashed for Zeel's neck.
Seth was sure that the Homo-Superior was not someone to consider mutual destruction as a tactic so he gambled with the hope that Zeel would detach the chains before the scythe killed him.
Zeel retracted the chains inside his body, spun around mid-air, and kicked Seth with enough force to send him a couple dozen miles in the opposite direction.
With Seth gone, Zeel crashed into the ground near the dead bodies of several large creatures – the location of the battlefield where the Kraken and Gigantape fought against the Titans.
Zeel dazedly shook his head and looked around for the object that his nanites required for the upgrade… and soon he sensed it…
A massive amount of energy originating from a Titan's shoulder – Seth's Throne made of Crystal Skulls.
