Chapter 13: Chapter 13. A Start of a Journey
As I clean the grave marker in front of me, it has been a little over a year since Vernal's death I'm now 12 and this is the last time in a while I will be able to visit her. Vernal's grave is set up on a hill under a lone weeping cherry blossom tree, this was her favorite spot I felt it was appropriate to bury her ashes here I then said to Vernal's grave as if she was still here.
Silva: Well Vernal this is see you later I have some business to attend to hopely the next time I'm here I won't be alone and I can introduce you to some friends plus more.
I got up with my new weapon it was a single edge great sword that had a curved tip, the blade had a wide width at foot and half length that was as tall as 1.7 meters not counting the 60 cm handle. It was a solid black color with a handle on the flat of the blade so that it can serve as a shield as well this weapon wasn't named because it's to serve as training because the alloy it was made of was a tungsten steel reinforced with earth dust to make it more durable but also heavier, this weapon weigh at a couple hundred pounds give or take. I also had a high caliper revolver holstered to my right leg made of the same material because Echo Tremor's shock waves still have a limited range of only 10 or so meters to be effective against people and grimm. The reason I didn't use a transforming weapon that was popular in Remnant is because when I use Echo Tremor on sharp weapons to make them into high speed vibrating weapons to cut though most things they fall to pieces from the stress of said vibrations and the materials needed to withstand that punishment are either hard to come by or are too inflexible to shape into more complex parts.
My current outfit is a dark gray tank top with a black leather coat with a hood along with a black harness over it to hold my sword on my back. I was also wearing black pants with a light blue sash hanging on the side as a reminder of Vernal, along with black boots with gray straps on them and a bag attached behind me. On my chest plate was my emblem which was a white circle with tiger stripes in it that also had a katana blade pointing upward in the center from the bottom of the circle over the tiger stripes. I made my way back to the main camp of the Branwen tribe which was in the western part of Anima then to Raven's tent, as I entered she was drinking her tea while sitting on a cushion by the short table. Raven seeing me looked at the serious expression on my face then asked lightly.
Raven: What is it Silva?
I took a deep breath then made my desire known to her.
Silva: Mom I would like to leave the tribe.
Raven narrowed her eyes then asked curtly.
Raven: How long?
Silva: A few years to a decade.
Hearing my answer Raven was visibly displeased then asked as to why, my reply was.
Silva: To see the world and become stronger.
Raven relaxed a little then said with a light smile.
Raven: Alright but you have to pass a test first and that is to beat me to show that you are strong enough to get by without my protection.
When I heard her answer which I already guessed she do something like that to make me stay, I immediately grabbed my sword and slashed at her breaking the table and floor. Raven was surprised by sudden action she evaded my attack then grabbed her sword laying near by then asked furiously.
Raven: What are you doing Silva?!
I replied with a smile.
Silva: You told me to beat you so that I can leave so I'm not wasting time.
Raven showed a pissed expression then drew her sword, she spoke in a cold voice.
Raven: Very well son time to teach you a lesson or two on the world you wish to see.
I just smiled in response then went at her not caring about the damage I will cause, Raven was readying to block my attack seeing this I decide to stop hiding what I'm capable of. I coated my sword with Echo Tremor to make it vibrate, I cut her sword in half then sent her flying out of the tent because her aura protected her from being bisected along with her sword. As I walked out of the tent the tribe was gathering around to see what the commotion was, Raven looked at her sword with disbelief then asked how my reply was.
Silva: Can I leave or do you want to continue with your test.
The tribe started to mutter among themselfs and if Raven was angry before she was completely furious now. Her eyes lit up from the magic she was about to use to make her float and said.
Raven: We will continue and you will lose.
Raven started to conjure spears of ice but I wasn't bothered with the fact she was using magic even though the number of people that can do the same are a small handful because I knew how hypocritical she can be. Raven launched the spears at me my counter was to send a shock wave from my fist at them thus shattering them, I then charged at Raven while she process what just happen. I slashed at her, coming out of her stupor she summoned a wall of ice to block me, using Echo Tremor again to smash my way though it then hitting Raven making her stagger. Before I could use my next strike she pushed me back with a blast of wind, I dug my sword into the ground to slow me down then drew my revolver and started firing. She conjured a shield of ice to block my shots, unfortunately I can't endow my bullet's with Echo Tremor because it will cause the gunpowder to explode prematurely ruining the gun. I charged at her while firing my shots I also moved Scourge that I summoned before hand along with the samurai Arma Gigas which I call Senshi meaning warrior to flank her.
Scourge shot a fireball at her while Senshi sent a flying slash as well making a direct hit sending her flying at me which I met with a slash to the side sending her back. I reload my gun before holstering it sending Senshi to confront her while she's off balance, Raven used a torrent of frost to keep my summon away but it didn't effect it all that much. Senshi thrust it's spear at her while Scourge kept a distance sending another fireball at her which she blocked with a wall of ice while she evaded the spear by a narrow margin. I then sent a couple shock waves at her knocking her down to the ground, Senshi followed though with a stab of it's spear landing a hit. Raven shot into the air to get away but I wasn't going to let her so I used several shock waves from my fists to knock her out of the sky before she got out of range. Scourge followed by sending a fireball her way she quickly evaded, I appeared behind her then swung my sword she skid a few meters before glaring at me. I then summoned a Siren that released a powerful scream making Raven cover her ears, I put some earplugs in before summoning it I charged at her coating Echo Tremor on my sword then thrust at her. After landing the blow Raven's red aura flickered, good I'm getting close but Raven unleashed a burst of cold sending me flying while my summons were taken out.
Raven walk up to me as I got up then said in a tired but impressed tone from what I can tell with lip reading.
Raven: I'll admit you almost had me there but as I said you will lose and stay with the tribe. Also you owe me an explanation on how you did all that but first to make a point that you can't beat me.
Just as she finished she conjured a giant sword of ice and was about to strike me she was knocked down and her aura shattered. She looked behind her and saw a floating cannonball there which was my summon that I hid underground a Geist sub-type known as a Malum Arma which possessed weapons. I drew my revolver then pulled back the hammer pointing it at her as I took out my earplugs and said.
Silva: Sorry what was that I had earplugs on can you repeat it.
Raven let out a large sigh then said tiredly.
Raven: Fine you may go but you will return to the tribe in no later then 9 years or I will hunt you down and drag your hide back here.
I kept quiet but I will return just not rejoin the tribe but either capture or put down as a huntsmen.
( The next morning)
In the wake of the aftermath of my and Raven's fight all the tribe was happy to see me gone because most if not all of the tribe was injured which was partly why Raven let me go with such a long time limit. This was to serve as a so called exile as I packed most of my things in a large knapsack I walked out of the gate from the camp with only Raven there to see me off, Raven then said as she handed me a scroll.
Raven: Remember you are only to call me to ask for a favor once or to tell me when you are ready to come back, only these 2 got it.
I rolled my eyes and replied sarcastically.
Silva: Geez, Mommy Dearest can't I call you because I miss you, your breaking my heart here.
Raven pulled my right tiger ear and repeated to only call her only those 2 times. For a little pay back I hugged her tightly then lifted her off the ground, she wasn't amused but I was when she started to struggle out of my hug. She wanted me to put her down but I said I only would if she said the magic word, she quickly devolved into threatening me to put her down. I laughed at her but still held on to her tightly she sighed then her eyes lit up and I got a powerful jolt making me let go. She really didn't want say please to the point of using magic, I shrugged my shoulders then summoned a Nevermore just large enough to ride on and said my good byes.
I already had a destination in mind it something I discovered with using Echo Tremor as a sonar it was a large deposit of dust that had yet to be mined. I had some summons that can help me dig out the dust without too much trouble plus I know of some blackmarkets that I was shown by Raven to get some things that can't be gotten by raiding or scavenging. With all this in mind I can have enough money not to worry to about something plus once this deposit runs out I can find another using the same method. Well this is just the start, while I do have some plans I look forward to what my journey will bring before I start attending Beacon at 17 along with the main cast.
