Chapter 168: The 13 Dark Society (II)

Hiding in the darkness, Levian sat on his comfortable chair, leaning back. His eyes were closed as he felt that a myriad of annoying sounds were buffered out by the thick walls that he had created. It had been over two weeks since his last meeting with the dark society, which he found was quite childish in his opinion.

Their secret meetings with their powerplay that he saw going on made him want to throttle them to wake them up to reality's intricacy. The dungeons weren't the only thing he saw in his dreams, but many more to come.

He was glad for these so-called nightmares that held true to its vision, making him much more powerful than before. But nobody knew that he had a secret he kept in his heart, a special one that made him different from the rest of the world.

Levian was a reincarnator. He had lived this life once and saw the end that was going to play out. He was against the ideals of his past life thoughts and rejected the outcome that was bound to come. Instead, he strived for a change. One would say a change was for the better tomorrow, but he knew that this wasn't true.

Everything was still happening the way he foresaw, but there was a few inconsistencies that he did not anticipate. The appearance of a Saintess was a lot sooner than he expected. She wasn't supposed to be awake so quickly, especially when the Saintess should have awaken five years later. What was the change?

He didn't quite understand what and why such things happened, but he furrowed his brows, thinking over the possibilities. He knew that such appearance harbored more things that were against the world than for the benefit.

Even though there were many Heroes, there was only one Saintess in existence. So many memories, so many changes that he must push forward, there was no time. The only reason that he had given these imbeciles a bit of time was because it took time for the dungeons to spew out what they needed. The dungeons had a set of rules they always followed, never breaking on their own as it was the filter that brought in magic from different worlds.

He was still at the mercy of the Gods and Goddess. He didn't like that.

The rumors of Saintess coming down to grace their presence in these so-called difficulties were just a small drop in the water. He needed a bigger splash that would speed up the process even faster—a chance to save his friends and his future lover.

Levian wasn't sure if he was going down the right path, but there was only one end he wanted. The destruction of Earth, to end that vile planet from existence.

With a sigh, he lay back. Opening his eyes as he let the darkness wrap around him like a cloak. He reached out, picking up the laptop from the coffee table. With a click of his finger, he pressed the button.

It took a moment for his computer to turn on, allowing him to pull up a few things that he left on sleep. Hundreds of files were kept alphabetically in order of all the Players and important Native figures that he had personally collected.

When he stopped in front of Mike's profile. A sad expression appeared on his lips. "My old friend." He reached out, touching the screen lightly, knowing full well that he wouldn't be able to become close friends again.

Truth be told, to see him leading a famous guild that he knew that he would create, brought back unwanted memories. It was quite surprising to see the guild become so big so quickly, making him proud of his friend. He didn't expect him to gain such a large transaction so early. Gold Phoenix guild was also something that shouldn't be so popular as only a rare handful of influential players were supposed to gather there.

There were the new and old players that he remembered, but to see such a mighty swing of growth was astounding. Even the joining of Natives like Saintess was unexpected. He could see the swing of power the Gold Phoenix was going through. The rate they would grow was becoming bigger and more prominent.

He had high hopes for Mike. He knew that he could become something great like the past. Still, he did worry about him, even though they were now going down a different path.

When he flipped through the screen pages, he squinted his eyes, realizing who it was--Dairen. How he hated that weak persona of a fool. It reminded him of himself when he was just an ordinary Player. Fighting alongside the other Players and Hunters alike, slaying monsters, and even falling in love.

Dairen was never supposed to be part of the Gold Phoenix guild or have a high up in the guild. To see him there threw him completely off. He did not expect to see Dairen, even fighting for the Natives. It didn't make sense.

He couldn't believe the fiend was still alive, hiding among the people. He snorted, disgusted at the figure before him. The real devil in a sheepskin that was what Dairen was.

But then again, the changes in the event so far did not happen. Making Dairen just a simple man with the power of darkness in his grasp. Other than that, he was no threat for now.

Already, Levian's hand was tainted with blood even more heavily than before. One more dead body wasn't going to phase him. Plus, this was Dairen, better yet the Grim Reaper that slew thousands of people and made an army of skeletons.

Levian smirked at his luck, the black stain of humanity that he would gladly get rid of in his justice name.

He believed that everyone who died under his watch were all criminals. Criminals that would have harmed the world one way or another. Levian was sure that he was going down the correct path. If he changed into a monster, he would take that path because he knew that amid darkness, a powerful light would arrive and bet on this world that such a thing would happen again.

Finally, he rested his last image check on Snow. He stared at her picture and frowned. There were too many irregularities now around her. Meeting her again was a different experience to fall under, instead of the kind and loving gazes that she would have given him in his early life. His finger caressed the picture for a brief moment. Instead, he remembered hatred, anger, and disgust was present. He didn't mind. He wanted it that way.

Hiding behind a facade of a persona that he had created for himself. It was the only thing that kept his simple mind safe and the mask he must play to move the future-forward. The specific events of him being a villain was okay with him.

Everything was changing for the better or worse, all he needed to do was to stay focused. To stay focused on the goals that he was necessary to reach, not letting even his past friends stand in his way.

Clicking off the pages, he pushed away from the computer. He yawned, getting up to go grab something to eat.

He turned on the t.v, watching the local news. It was the usual news on the multiple small scale dungeons appearing around the world, especially about the largest dungeon in the northern part of Atlantis.

Another Overflow was bound to appear, bringing with it chaos that he predicted, but the news was different.

"This is SNC. I am Janet O'Ryan. We are in front of the largest Dungeon open in the middle of Atlantis. The magical level has been dramatically rising for the past few days, and today we are sure that it would be our next Overflow that we have been anticipating." Janet was a small woman who had black hair and blue eyes. She bravely stood in front of the dungeon gate, looming over her.

Large numbers of guild members from different groups appeared to face the possible wave that would come in the next hour.

"We have both the Heavenly guild and the Gold Phoenix in front of us today. Their main forces are already inside the dungeon for the past two weeks. Fighting against the current, trying to slay the dungeon lord. So far, we have been informed that they might have found a possible lead to the dungeon core boss."

Janet was excitedly looking at the dungeon gate, waiting for it to start.

"So far, the majority of the guild members are from our top two guilds. Even though this is their reserved force, they are still strong." Janet squealed like a fangirl when she saw Sarah go by, a co-leader of Heavenly Guild.

"Oh my god. It's Sarah!" Janet was jumping up and down.

Sarah walked past Janet with a large group of her guildmates following close behind. They got into position as they waited.

"Excuse me, Miss. Sarah!" Janet rushed over to get a good recording of her. "Excuse me!"

Sarah turned around, frowning at Janet, who was pushing through, trying to find a way to get to her. She hoped and pushed through, making her way towards the front where her mic was waving over a few people's shoulders.

Eventually, she was able to get in front of Sarah, trying to catch a breath. When she was finally able to, Sarah gazed upon her.

"Yes?"

Janet stood up straight, nervously standing there as she idolized Sarah, "I-I-I was wondering if I would get a few comments from you."

"Sure." Sarah's words were sharp and quick.

"What do you think is happening inside the dungeon? DO you think that we will succeed in breaking another dungeon soon?"

"Absolutely," Sarah said without a hint of worry.

"How are you so sure? This has been known as the worst of the three dungeons that have appeared to this day."

Sarah sighed, she cocked her hip to the side, placing her hand there. "We have all the best Players inside the Dungeon, and not only that the Saintess is there with us."

"The Saintess?! Yes, I heard about how she is in there. Do you think that is such a big difference?"

"Absolutely."

"Where does this faith come from?"

Sarah was silent. She looked towards the camera before she spoke. "Because she is a Saintess."
