I was just sitting in the bus, re-reading my ultimate favorite cliche novel which is now the most popular asian drama, "Love At First Kiss" before going to work at the new private hospital.
A 28 year old, watching and fangirling a teen novel turned drama series? Yep, that's me. I have been following this novel since I was resident at a public hospital.
One thing I hate about it is that the female lead is your typical female lead, the lovely goody-two-shoes that is qUiRkY and dIfFeReNt (yes, she makes fun of the people wearing make-up and shaming them for it, just because she is a natural beauty) who is fragile yet stubborn. In short, she's weak and constantly needs the protection of all the male leads but is willful when it comes to the main male lead, who is by the way, the typical Handsome Playboy. Oh and the girl is from a poor family, and the guy is rich. Basically, a modern Cinderella Story. And she wreaks havoc but leaves unscathed...every damn time. She really has that typical female lead halo.
Another thing is that there is a side villain character which have the same name as mine. Athena Hexie Wu, the main Villainess' friend and a lowly cannon fodder character. She's the first one to die in the whole Villainess Squad. In the drama though, we got to know her family background, and somehow they also died after offending someone due to this character.
As a fellow Athena, it hurts to see her family suffer because of her. If I have that loving family, I will prioritize them instead of ruining another girl's life. Her friendship with the Main Villainess is admirable though, after all they're loyal friends.
Although I despise the character, I also sympathise with her. Being brainwashed by her wicked aunt and becoming an evil young lady. She's the whole reason why the main Villainess is also evil.
Aiya! I have to tweet this before I go to the my work in the new private hospital. The boss will be mad at me if I come late.
As I was arguing with someone online why the villains in the novel should be sympathised, the bus suddenly got faster and my phone fell.
When I looked up, the bus swerved to avoid the cars ahead. But little did we know that there was a sharp curve ahead along the steep cliff, with the breaks that were probably broken, our bus didn't have time to stop until we crashed on the railing and fell into the rocky river.
