The clouds are good beds. It's like a huge teddy bearing, so soft and cuddly. Its softness does not just give comfort but more of an emotion that touches my heart, it's like giving me a hug of love and care. I hear the angels singing, birds and flies too are in unison and harmony. I feel the urge to stretch my body to feel the softness of the clouds and enjoy heavenly comfort. But, when I tried to move my arms, I felt an excruciating pain. Panic suddenly made me open my eyes.... "Aaahhhhhh... Put off the light." I can't open my eyes because of the bright light coming everywhere. Then I heard foot steps rushing towards me. I also heard my dad's voice saying "she's awake" then I heard my mom sobbing.
Just then, I remember what happened before I had a black out. Richard.... Rona!!! The slaps, the punches, the kicks.... With this thought, my heart beats faster, the pain.... Rona....
I attempted to open my eyes again, this time slowly, afraid of the strong light a while ago. Little by little, I saw the people around, at first they looked as if they were from afar, they were tiny. I rubbed my eyes gently and when I opened my eyes again, I immediately recognized my mom and dad at my side. Just then, my mom's sob was getting louder. May be it was her way of being relieved. I patted her hand gently and told her, "shhhh, it's ok now, nothing to worry mom. I'm feeling better". "What happened?" my mother asked in between sobs.
I relayed the story in details. When I was done, my mother was already in her anger state. She was cursing Rona but father was just silent all through out. I saw him furrowed his brows and I see his eyes were burning in anger. This was not a familiar look of my father. I held his hand to assure him that I'm feeling better now. But I know, this will not be the end to this and there would not be a pleasant days ahead for Rona.
