Annie adjusted her glasses and looked over the newcomer.
But before she could speak a word, Julia spoke up.
"I'm sorry but I'm not a beggar."
Julia said this as she looked directly into Ivy's eyes. She spoke up as if she changed into a new persona. (not the one we always knew)
Ivy raised her brows and continued typing on her computer.
"Well then, may I possibly know why you are here?"
"Oh, I'm here to return this wallet to..."
Julia then opened her purse and took out her wallet. "Ms. Annie Dale?"
Presumably acting as if she didn't know the person.
Upon mentioning her wallet, Annie began to search her pockets and found it was indeed lost. She stood up and walked over to Julia to retrieve her wallet.
"Thank you very much"
She said with a sigh of relief.
"Did you lost your wallet again? This is the third time already." Ivy said whilst continuing in her work in the laptop.
Annie being a clumsy person she is scratched her head and whispered an awkward apology to her superior.
While the two were interacting, Julia turned towards the door hesitatingly.
She stopped midway.
"Uhmm...excuse me. Is this an agency?"
She meekly asked.
"Yes, this is Twilight Agency. We are still new here so we are currently busy arranging and organizing." Annie answered looking up to Julia.
A twinkle of light shone upon Julia's eyes.
"Oh...are you...perhaps hiring?"
She fidgeted with her fingers.
"Uhhh" Annie transferred her gaze towards her superior at the moment, the woman working on the laptop - Ivy.
"Although we haven't posted a notice yet, yes, we are hiring."
Ivy stopped her fingers on the laptop and looked up to the one she has mistaken as a 'beggar' before.
"If you want to apply, please prepare your resume and come at this building on the assigned date."
She tore a piece of the sticky note she happened to chance upon the desk and wrote a date on the paper and all the requirements needed. It was swiftly written on the paper.
She gave it to Julia afterward together with a business card.
"This is a little thanks for finding and returning Annie's wallet. Consider yourself lucky."
Ivy said this with her stoic face and firm voice.
Julia then 'acted' joyfully, bowed and thanked the two people inside the room. She then proceeded to leave.
'What an interesting person.'
Annie said with a slight smile on her face while doing her assigned chores.
As the girl walked out of the room, Ivy stared at the door for a long while and proceeded to continue her work.
The room returned to its original state afterward.
Upon leaving the building, Julia changed her aura and expression she was wearing on her face. It's as if a mask was taken off from her face.
She looked at the piece of paper and the business card.
A smirk hung on her pink lips.
And she hummed a peculiar tone while stretching her hands, admiring the sunset donning the entire city.
'It's quite exciting.'
I am very sorry to all of you readers. Really sorry?. I wasn't able to upload any chapters for the past two months as classes has already started. And my father wanted me to focus on my studies first. That's why I couldn't upload. Besides, I can't seem to find the word weekend on my dictionary?. *Sigh here is a mass release (or rather catch up chapters) for you guys.
