Chapter 1: When It All Starts
*panting*
*gasping*
*sigh*
"Just... just another... where the fuck am I?"
*wilderness sounds*
'Is that a real deer, no, it can't be, I'm just asleep and dreaming'
rrrrrruuuaaaarrrr
"Uff"
While Rick was standing there, mumbling to himself, a wild beast had snuck up behind him, and pounced at him.
"That over there is the perfect example of why we always pay attention to our surroundings, no matter what you hunt, now for some training, save him." ordered an emotionless older voice
And with that last word a man dashed from the sidelines and stabbed into the beast's stomach and slicing his sword to the head of the beast, killing it.
"Thanks for the save, what was that anyway?"
"That was a pranter, every hunter knows that."
"I'm not a--"
rrrruuuuuuaaaaaaarrrrr
"Uh-oh, time to go, you coming?"
"I don't have a choice if I want to live"
"Nope"
While Rick chased the man who saved him, he looks back to see a black shadow chasing them "JUST WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?"
"Not positive but we better step it up before it catches up" and with that he got faster. Rick struggled to keep up, luckily they seemed to be a little faster than the shadow now, but while running he heard something.
"WAAAH"
A cry came from his right, when he turned he saw a child sat near a tree, the shadow immediately turned to the kid and changed direction. 'oh no you don't' Rick charged to the child and picked it up and continued to run but the shadow scratched his back wit its claws. Rick dropped to the ground, as he rolled, he saw the beast's face, it looked similar to a elephant without a trunk and a smaller body, when it was about to slash down on him, a sword stabbed into the creature's side, an older man ran the sword up to the neck of the creature, when it suddenly shook itself, the man went flying into a tree, while the creature approached the man, Rick saw the sword still logged in the creature, he set down the kid and ran to the sword, grabbing it and with all the strength from his adrenaline, he twisted it and sliced open the neck of the creature, killing it.
The man who saved his life walks over and grabs the creature's corpse and says "grab the kid and Mr John, we're going."
After 30 minutes, the older man called Mr John woke up, and immediately scanned his surroundings and asked "How long have I been out for?"
"30 minutes sir" answered the young man
Mr John stood on his own only to see Rick on the verge of collapse. "Why aren't you healing?" he asked Rick
"I'm... I'm not like you guys..." and with that he passed out.
