Chapter 11: Snow Festival 1

The whole Kingdom is preparing for the Snow Festival, the very first day of Winter.

Every Kingdom experience a different season at the same time.

The West is on their summer season, the Lower North is experiencing Autumn, the East is on Spring, while the North is on their winter season.

People started wearing thick clothes and hot chocolate is everyone's the favorite drink.

The palace has everyone do particular jobs to prepare for the grand festival.

The other seasons have normal festival celebrations, but winter is the most extravagant because it is the same day the North has conquered South, which makes it a victorious day as well.

"I can't believe this is the day they killed my family," Princess Irie said while on her bed.

She just woke up and she doesn't want to get up or even wake up.

'If I can skip this day,' she sighs and bites her quilt in anger.

Even though she can't fully remember what happened on that day of her Kingdom's fall, she can feel the resentment and sadness.

Her chest feels heavy and anger rises inside.

She wants to finish the North now.

She wants to see their own fall, she wants them to experience the same torment they gave.

She covered her face with her right arm.

"Good Morning, Rain! You were asked to help the Prince in assessing the town's preparation for the festival," Bea enters with a wide smile but it disappeared when she saw the Princess on her bed.

"Are you okay? Are you feeling sick again? This is the first time I see you on your bed during this time. You're always prepared when I enter during mornings, what happened?" Bea asks.

Princess Irie wakes up early even before the sound of the bell and is all dressed up when Bea goes to her room.

"Nothing, I just... don't want this day, I want tomorrow," Princess Irie rolls to her left, turning her back to Bea.

Bea sits on the bed and looks at the princess with worried eyes, "Are you not feeling well? I can tell the Prince."

"No, she will help the Prince," a feminine man in white said while combing his long silky white hair.

"Sir Vioneree," Bea stands up immediately.

"Did you just went in my room, Vioneree?" Princess Irie sits and looks at him sharply.

After the incident about the tutor, the Priest decided to let Princess Irie learn on her own about the job of a Queen, but the Guardians, Priest in a lower position, disagreed.

They want the Princess to be molded perfectly for a North Queen that they sent a tutor themselves.

The King and Prince Tris can't do anything, even the Priest, since all the 24 guardians agreed to Vioneree as the tutor.

If there was only one who didn't agree, the King and the Priest can refuse on their decision.

"Yes, Princess Lorainne Emersyn, I just went inside your room," Vioneree smiles at her irritably.

Vioneree knows that the Princess doesn't like him and he doesn't like her either.

"I will choose what dress you should wear, you are going to face the Future King, you should impress him," Vioneree opened the walk-in-closet and went through the dresses.

Irie facepalms as Bea sweatdrops, 'This is going to be tough,' Bea thought as she's the one who always has to go in the middle of the two during their fights.

"And Bea, I heard how you call Her Highness," Vioneree said while looking at a pink dress, he didn't look at her making Bea felt shivers.

"I will let this pass but next time, be sure I won't hear you call the princess with her nickname. I am disappointed at you, you've been working at the palace for 5 years but here you are."

Bea lowers her head and distanced herself from the Princess, "Let me help you take a bath, Princess Lorainne Emersyn," Bea said faintly.

Princess Irie gets up aggressively, throwing her quilt on the ground.

She clenched her fist and looks at Vioneree, "I asked her to call me by my nickname, I gave her permission. You can't tell her to stop calling me Rain," Princess Irie grinds her teeth while resisting herself from shouting at Vioneree.

When it comes to him, her blood just boils just by seeing his shadow.

He keeps on reminding her about etiquette which is mostly restricting her or Bea on doing the things they naturally enjoy such as Tea during dinner, midnight snacks, talking to each other, walking around the garden; everything has to be done right on the right time and on the right place.

"What if other people hear you?" Vioneree walks out of the closet carrying a black dress which looks like it's for funerals.

Princess Irie glares at him, she wants to punch him hard until his sassy face is ruined and his silky long hair is messed up, 'Talking about etiquette, your kingdom suddenly stole another people's country and killed everyone, what a good foundation of etiquette,' Princess Irie thought.

Bea worriedly looks at the Princess, "The bath must be warm now, Princess," she said to avoid Princess Lorainne from bursting.

Vioneree smiled at the Princess to make her more irritated and choose the black color dress because the Prince doesn't fancy black.

The whole goal of the Guardians is to kick the Princess Lorainne Emersyn Superio Luoie out of the palace and break the engagement.

They are against an unknown girl who was crowned the day before she was sent to the palace as a fiance.

They will persuade the Prince and King that she is not fit to be the North Queen.

'You get irritated easily, Princess, that is displeasing for a Queen,' Vioneree thought without breaking the eye contact with the Princess while she and her maid go inside the bathroom.

"Princess, if you get easily annoyed with Sir Vioneree, he will report it to the guardians. Then the guardians will tell the Priest to break the engagement," Bea sighs.

"You know how the guardian's vote is heavier than the Kings, right? They stand for the people, religion, magic, and science. If they tell something, it has to be done especially if everyone voted for it," Bea softly washes Irie's hair while she's inside the bathtub, soaking with rose milk.

"But if someone, even one guardian disagrees with a decision, the King, Priest and Prince Tris can disapprove as well, right?" Princess Irie looks at Bea with a malicious smile.

"I shouldn't have talked about it," Bea smiles at the Princess.

"You can call me Rain, even if Vioneere is there, I'll smack his face if he says something.

Both of them laughs while Vioneree goes through the things of the Princess.

"So she paints? Hm, creative," Vioneree comments when he saw brushes and paints on a box.

"Well, well, well, what is this? Isn't this His Highness?" He took a sketch of Ren from luggage while he looks at the other sketches, a thought struck him.

His eyes opened wide while covering his mouth in the surprise of his idea.

"She's a stalker who deceived the West King to make her a princess and marry our dear Prince!" Vioneere took a sketch but as he folds it to hide it in his pocket, he saw the name on the sketch with a happy birthday, "Ren? Who is that?"

His brows furrow as he analyzes but when he heard bathroom opening, he immediately put it in his pocket and fixes the luggage and sits on the chair, acting like he's waiting.

Bea and Vioneere had small disagreements on how the Princess should look but mostly Vioneere had the most influence on the appearance of the Princess.

"Ugh, I feel so dark," Princess Irie whispers while looking at herself.

She's wearing a black dress with black heeled boots, black wool cloak, black gloves, and a black muffler scarf.

"Am I overdressed?" Princess Irie looks at Bea.

"Ye-"

"No," Vioneere dead stare at Bea while cutting her words.

Bea just looks at Princess Irie with a frown.

If they disagree with Vioneere again, they will be reported to the guardians.

"Let's go~" Vioneere bats his long lashes and pulls the Princess.

"You really are disrespecting me, Vioneere," Princess Irie pulls her hand away from Vioneere.

"You too, Princess Lorainne Emersyn, is disrespecting the whole guardians. I thought you were timid, quiet and obedient, but guess it's only a rumor," Vioneere looks at the Princess sharply while opening the door.

Princess Irie stares at him while going out of the room as he bows down mockingly.

They went directly to the central park where a small stage is placed on the middle and there are fiesta banners around and a large sign above the stage saying: "HAPPY SNOW FESTIVAL"

The touch of blue can't be unseen.

They took a seat while waiting for the Prince while the other's continue on decorating.

The drape at the stage is blue and white, the chairs have a decor of snowflakes which are blue, the carpet on the stage is blue.

"The Prince Tris Cassiel La Estella arrived," someone shouted from the behind.

They all look at the back, women and men swoon while looking at him.

He's wearing blue and a touch of a black coat and black gloves.

Vioneere is shocked to see him wear black and stares at the Princess' dress, 'Did he saw her?'

The Princess didn't realize and heard, she's staring at the banner while thinking that this is the day that her family and kingdom died.

'The color black suits me, I feel like mourning today,' she thought and sighs.
