Chapter 27: The Unexpected Intruder

Sona Sitri loves her sister.

But she could do with a lot less overprotectiveness. She could have sworn that she got rid of all her cameras at the academy though. The magician she hired to scour the grounds even got the few more hidden ones.

"SO-TAN! How could you have a party and not invite me! We could have done yuri ecchi things together! Wait~!"

Maybe her older sister planted new ones? If she had the abilities to hide those cameras so well...

"Was it that mean new devil that came here? Is he bugging my So-tan?"

"Maybe Harry-san would know how to find your cameras," Sona couldn't help but blurt out under her breath.

"I knew it! Mr. Fake Devil-kun was behind this! He probably told you not to invite me, huh?"

"Onee-sama, what are you- uggh," she was cut off when her sister wrapped her arms around her body, forcing the air from her lungs.

"WHERE IS THAT BAD MAN, SOOOOOOONAAAA-CHAAAAN!"

"I-ugghh!" Sona felt the ground meet her behind as she was dropped on the ground.

"You don't need to say it, So-tan! Magical Girl Levia-tan can sense the mean devils hiding in Ria-tan's clubhouse! I'm no the case!" Serafall yelled as she turned and started skipping to the ORC building, waving her pink, Magical Girl staff, sending glitter on all the walls.

"Please, onee-sama! Don't embarrass me!" she yelled as she tried to stop the Leviathan before she went on a rampage.

It didn't take her long, but Serafall made it to the ORC building and kicked the door off its hinges, "Where is that new bad devil? Magical Girl Levia-tan has words for him!"

Rias jumped up from the corner behind her desk, "L-Leviathan-sama, what are you doing here?"

"You heard me the first time, Ria-tan, where is that bad guy?"

""Leviathan-sama!""

Sona watched with horror as her peerage swapped between being mesmerized by her cuteness and paling in fear over her supposed power when they learned that she was a Maou and Sona's older sister. Everyone else was woken from their slumbers and straying in from where they passed out in other rooms, quickly using demonic power to fix their hair and clean their bodies.

The Rooks asked for help from the Bishops for the last one.

Sona continued to watch, sweat dripping from her brow, as her older sister completely forgot why she came here and just started embarrassing her further. She kept going on and on about ecchi things with her sister and how much she loved her.

Her newest Pawn looked like blood was coming from his nose! What was she supposed to do? She had to stop her onii-sama before she went too far.

And then, IT happened.

Harry, the newest devil, was sitting on the couch wearing some kind of costume. Sona had to admit, his idea was fun and it finally got her peerage to stop treating Rias' like they barely exist. She wasn't proud to admit that the rivalry she had with her old friend had their peerages often at odds when she never wanted it to be that way. The Beleth devil himself had some respectable peerage members despite how... disrespectful, unrestrained, and annoying he was at times.

But Sona never expected him to wear the clothes of some anime villain, glamor his eyes to glow red, and make that odd, lightning bolt scar glow with the same red color as his eyes. The very same that he assumed he had complicated thoughts towards, judging by how often she saw him rub it whenever he was nervous.

And the way he fondled his wand and... tentacles! Why was she doing that to her sister? WHAT WERE THEY DOING?

"You'll never win, the power of love cannot be stopped by such erotic, evil magic!" Serafall cried out before...

Before the tentacles started to rub at her thighs and she started moaning with them!

Sona was shocked still. How? Why? Why me?

When her older sister started panting, she had enough, she had to stop this!

"Onee-sama!" Sona ran towards them and ever drew upon her demonic power to wash them away when a barrier appeared.

A translucent barrier of ice stopped her from interfering!

"Onii-" she sobbed a little bit as tears started springing from her eyes, "Onee-sama, please, not anymore!" she whimpered.

The barrier didn't go away. The Maou Leviathan wanted to continue playing her game and everyone was looking at her. Her sister.

Sona turned and ran. She rubbed at her face and ran to the student council's room and slammed the door shut before she slid down a little against it.

"Uhh, sorry," a British accent interrupted her tears and she stilled in fear and anger. "I'm a little lost and ended up here."

"How did you come here in the first place? And you don't speak Japanese?" she asked, ignoring her previous demonstration of weakness.

"I was with Harry and he got a call, so he teleported here and forgot that I somehow tagged along. I wandered the grounds looking for him, but ended up here."

"Well," she stiffened at the mention of the devil. The devil that made her sister... "He should be done within the hour."

"Uhh, okay, thanks. I'm Ron Weasley by the way," he sat down in a chair and fidgetted a little.

"Sona Sitri. Do you play?" she pointed at her chess set before taking a seat. Anything to distract her right now from that... scene!

"Yea, I'm pretty decent, I usually play a... different kind though," he spoke out loud and looked at the chess set before moving a knight.

"Potter-san mentioned that wizards play with moving pieces."

"So you're magical?" he asked with a grin before he chuckled lightly, "He would say that. It's a little more complicated though. The pieces in Wizard's Chess not only respond to your will and how you commanded them so far, but they refuse to make moves that would sacrifice themselves if their morale is below. Sometimes pieces will even want to defend others. It adds a lot more dimensions to the game."

His excitement petered off at the end, "Sorry, I like the game, but most don't share my enthusiasm."

"No," Sona answered as she made another move. "It sounds interesting. I wouldn't expect Potter-san and his... dogfather to enjoy things like that."

"Dogfather?" he questioned. "Sirius died though. I saw it."

"It's-" she paused.

Ron hummed, "Must have made him a devil then? That's some pretty cool magic. I hope I get the chance to see him when I'm here then."

Sona blinked, "Yes. I'm sure that could be ar-"

What?

"Checkmate. That was a good game, Sona," Ron asked, butchering Japanese customs by using her first name. Not that she could care at the moment, her mind was blank.

She lost. Potter-san mentioned a chess grandmaster as a friend, but this?

"I... lost," she whispered in disbelief.

Ron awkwardly rubbed the back of his head, "Don't worry about it, you're the best I've ever played. Anywaaay," he drawled. "You were off your game when we started. Wanna play another?"

============

Sona Sitri loved her childhood friend, Rias Gremory.

That didn't mean, however, that she respected her as a devil. It was her fault she was fighting the marriage with Raiser at the last minute. It was her fault that she didn't use some bullshit law and maybe even her otaku knowledge to make up a challenge that Raiser couldn't win with.

It was how Sona got out of being in a marriage agreement.

It sounded simple at the time, show everyone that she had a better strategic mind. The houses that used to have powers that increased intelligence and calculatory abilities all went extinct in the Great War and following Devil Civil War. She would beat every challenger in chess and pick a marriage candidate when she wanted to.

She knew why the pillars continued the moronic marriage tradition, but it didn't mean that she would follow through with it. Sona would become a powerful devil with a powerful peerage on her own before she would ever think about romance.

But devils, for all their inclinations towards domination and following desires, were also creatures of deals. Of pacts. And this deal for her hand was not with the Underworld, but with the whole dimension. To ALL challengers.

"Blimey, you're really good, Sona. I'll bring a set of Wizard's Chess next time and you can try it out."

She lost. She lost twice in a row.

The second time they played, when she was really paying attention, it was like she couldn't predict his moves. It was wrong. His mind was all over the place, his eyes darted to each piece with methodical calculations.

Every textbook move, every strategy, it seemed obvious to the ginger wizard in front of her.

She lost.

Whether he knew it or not, magically and by law, they were engaged. Marriage.

Sona walked over to her desk and removed a familiar box. She placed a finger over her rook and extra pawn pieces before moving over to her knight.

The Evil Pieces are a strange work of science, magic, and art. Sometimes, they enhanced the instincts or gut feelings of a devil while they calculated how many pieces it would cost to turn them and guess their future potential.

Logically, she should use a Pawn or two on this random wizard that was good at chess. This random wizard who had the power to become her husband. He needed to learn to SERVE her first before he found out.

Sona let out an uncharacteristic sigh before picking up the knight piece and placing it on the table in front of the Ron.

'It could be worse, he could be like Raiser,' she thought to herself as she felt like she was slowly dying inside as she explained devils to Ron Weasley.
