Andrew was still inside his hideout, training intensely and getting a better hold of his power.
Two more days and night have passed, and he was now more confident with the use of his magic.
With trials and errors, he made a few exciting discoveries that made the potential of his magic way higher.
First, he could now teleport to a place he couldn't see. For example, he had managed to teleport from the bathroom of the hideout to the main room while the door was locked. This cost more in power than teleporting to a place he could see, and it taxed his brain more as well.
Teleporting wasn't enjoyable to him. It often made him dizzy. He was not used to it yet. It felt strange every time he appeared in a new place, the new sensations in his surroundings took time to adapt.
He tried to teleport in succession, but each successive one was harder and took longer.
The second important discovery he made was great too. He could teleport with something if he included it in his mind. He even managed to move the crate after some hard effort and emptying most of his mana ball.
He still hadn't found a better name for the agglomeration of mana inside his body, but the ball kept increasing in size. It permitted him to do more actions.
Finally, he discovered that the more distance, the more mana he had to use.
He had to take some risk to test this for real. The room was a bit too small for this kind of test, he had to go outside.
The night was there when he tried, and he made sure that nobody was in the alley.
Even if the place wasn't reachable from the street of the nobles, he still didn't want to take any risk to have his hideout discovered.
He didn't know if people were trying to find him inside the city or not, but with his father gone, he wasn't going to do anything rash.
The book didn't give him any new insight about his power yet, and the lack of a book regarding the ABC of magic was still very lacking.
Today was uneventful until dinner. He was recovering his mana while eating and looking at what was happening at Gerud's house.
Andrew had never seen Gerud move around so often. He kept bringing stuff inside his house, and that raised Andrew's curiosity by quite a bit.
At some point, Gerud seemingly left the house, because he went in the direction where the gate was.
Meanwhile, his two minions went inside the small house that had shaken the other day and brought out a girl. She was shackled, and her head hunged low.
Sighting her, Andrew's jaw opened to its fullest. He had seen beauties in his life. But this girl, she was so beautiful.
Another quality of the magical wall was its precision. Andrew could see as if he was sitting on a branch of the tree from which the point of view was taken.
That's why he could fairly well see how beautiful the girl was.
She was poorly clothed. What she wore could even be considered rugs. But her face and her body were perfect.
Her blond and silky hairs were cascading on her back. Her big and golden eyes matched her face perfectly. She looked to have no default has if it was painted.
Her forms were plentiful in all the right places. Her breast looked more significant than most of the mothers he had seen and her ass, ohhh her ass. The way her hips swayed was hypnotizing.
Andrew could have fantasized a lot more if she wasn't shackled and wasn't brought to the worst place.
All of this was a bad omen, and after seeing the girl, he had to do something.
It was stupid, he knew it. What could he do with his meager power? He couldn't barge from the front. He probably couldn't fight the guard either.
Andrew pathed around the table until he finally had the idea! He slapped his face when he thought of something.
Time was ticking, and even Gerud was returning to that house now.
'My reserve of mana has increased. Maybe I could teleport inside the mansion. I don't think they would have any protection against teleportation, would they?'
He found the idea attractive, and he really wanted to try.
But once he was there then what? Can he fight Gerud? Definitely not. He had to think of something.
He had the dagger certainly but would it be enough? The weapon though sturdy didn't look to be enchanted.
He had equipped his new outfit and was now trying to teleport right next to the house.
It was getting late, and with the light of the day almost extinct, there was no one outside right now.
Andrew was getting a bit stressed. He didn't know if it would work and the seconds ticked.
It could feel that he had something. The power was building up inside his body, and it reminded him of his first teleportation in the library.
After what felt like an eternity his surroundings vanished, and he appeared in the courtyard.
The chill of the evening made him open his eyes, and he quickly took in his surroundings.
No one was outside as expected, and from where he was, next to the house, he couldn't see inside Gerud's house. It looked like the man took some necessary protection. Some obfuscation ward to block sight from the windows and maybe even another one, soundproof. Because Andrew couldn't hear anything either.
He quickly went to the door, not waiting any longer. He barged inside, ready to teleport away in case anything happened.
The back of Gerud welcomed him. He was psalmodizing something. The girl was on her knees shackled to a stone and on top of an intricate magic circle.
Andrew could feel what the circle would do even if he didn't understand its composition. Gerud wanted to enslave the girl to him. The raw power and the flow of mana emanating between them made it obvious.
The girl was shaking and looked wide-eyed at Gerud. She apparently didn't remark Andrew either.
Certain that his teleportation was slower than running at the moment Andrew bolted forward.
As soon as he was behind Gerud, he lashed at him, the tip of the blade first. He aimed at where he thought the heart was located.
This was enough to knock Gerud out of his sense. The man hit the ground loudly, either unconscious or dead.
The mana flow from the girl was still going to him however, and this made Andrew panic.
He didn't know if the spell was over or not and if the magic circle had ended its purpose, but he was damned if he would let it like this.
"Wh-hat?" Asked the girl, her big eyes opening wider. A glimpse of hope could be seen on her face.
"No time, I must try to break this first" Answered Andrew.
He was now sitting on top of Gerud's back, both hands on his body trying to exert pressure on the anchor point of the flow.
Gerud wasn't dead, Andrew was sure of it now.
When he finally ripped the attach of the mana, too many things happened at once.
Gerud howled the loudest and sinister sound Andrew had ever heard which apparently scared the girl because she now looked very pale.
The flow of mana, as if with a life of its own, rushed towards Andrew and rammed with full force into his ball of mana.
Something clicked, and the flow was now forming a bound. He instantly knew that he owned the girl now.
The last ward wasn't soundproof because the two minions entered the room quickly after hearing the noise.
Seeing Andrew atop their boss made them very angry, and he wondered for a second if they weren't berserkers.
Shaking his head inwardly at that, he thought that the angrier they were, the easier it would be to dodge and play with them if he had to fight.
So before they could say anything or act, he slapped their boss. Loudly. On the ass.
The girl seemed less panicked now. She even chuckled at the sight of this man slapping the ass of her jailer.
"We must kill him." said minion one, looking genuinely angry.
"Fast, fast, the boss will be angry." said the second, probably more scared by what Gerud would do to him if he didn't move fast enough.
They covered the distance in a heartbeat, but Andrew was already back on his feet, waiting.
Minion one was faster but was welcomed by an elbow strike in the jaw and pushed back toward Minion two who was halted in his momentum.
"Nice one." Appreciated the girl.
Andrew had no time to comment because he got approached again. He ducked to dodge an incoming fist and tried to strike the leg in front of him with his own.
This time the minion was ready, and the blow did nothing to him. He had to roll on the left. The minion had joined his two hands together, raised them above his head and made a hammer-like strike that broke the ground.
The two minions were too powerful for him, but he was more agile. Andrew moved around, crouching and jumping as he dealt many blows to his foes.
The fight was at a stalemate for a while, but Andrew was getting tired.
Encouragements kept coming from the girl one after the other which gave him more strength to continue the fight.
After a while, the outcome of the contest was more and more evident. Andrew had been hit twice already, and he was sweating a lot.
When he was sure that he wouldn't win, Andrew decided to try something very bold.
He darted toward the girl. "That's the only way," he said. "Keep still. I don't know if it'll work".
Then he took her in his embrace. She was still shackled to the stone, but that didn't matter.
The two minions were already on him, and a blow caught him on the side.
He was desperately trying to teleport with the girl to the hideout. He didn't know if he could teleport someone. But since he could move with objects it should be possible, right?
The fight had dured long enough for him to restore all of his mana, but his body and mind were both exhausted from the battle.
A bit startled, the girl was looking intently at him. She was quiet now.
"Are you seeking comfort before you die, Andrew?" Said the first minion.
"No one will save you here. Now be a good boy and die for us, insect." Said the second.
They didn't perturb Andrew, however, and he finished to build up his magic.
No one knew the reaction of the two minions as the familiar scenery of the hideout appeared before his eyes.
Andrew delicately put the girl down before losing consciousness.
