Chapter 2: He's The King
That gasp that Han Momo left out of the darkness was pure horror. "Sh... Sh... Shayleen King... You mean The Shayleen King... The King... Oh my God Hāi-ti! The ruthless boss of the deadliest gang of the country just took a fancy on you. Why its always the most dangerous member of the society who takes fancy on you?!"
Ling Sheng almost choked on his drink.
Shayleen King was not just the gang leader of the most dangerous gang of the town but also the most dominating and vicious gangster of the country. His name alone is enough to make one quiver on his knees. In the last few years the Night Kings has become the top mercenary gang of the country. Their gang had assassinated many big shots including famous politicians and big businessmen . Neither government nor business officials dare mess with him. He even call shots with Mafias. If one wants to survive in this country, then they dare not mess with him. Offending him can give you more than just death.
"Shoo Momo, he was just being a gentleman. " Hayati told her.
If previously Ling Sheng almost choked on his drink then this time he completely threw it. Thankfully the contents didn't fell on either girl's dress.
But it fell on some other Barbie's lavish outfit. The lush white gown of the other girl was now tainted with red wine. Before she could retaliate or make any harsh comments on whoever mannerless person has done this. She opened her mouth probably to shout curses but all it required to quiet her was one swift movement from Ling Sheng. His hands moved smoothly over her dress to wipe off. This earned a sheepish smile from whoever the Barbie was and a hard threatening glare from Momo.
Ling Sheng wasn't a flirt. But he always tried to hit on Momo. To which she never responded positively. So being the little asshole he is, he tried to do it against her, hitting on other girls in front of her. A supposedly old fashioned move but surprisingly it worked. Every time Sheng made his move on other girls, a slight hint of jealousy became evident on her face.
Crazy how these deadly-dangerous personalities also have a soft side of theirs. Oh yes! Forgot to mention Hayati, Han Momo and Ling Sheng were members of a Chinese mercenary gang. Pretty much since high school days. It was there where they met. Hayati has done her high schools from International School of Beijing, where she met Ling Sheng and Han Momo. And with their little sneak outs in between led them to meet their fate in a mercenary gang. However, the heir to the most dangerous family of Beijing was also in the same high school and with that they start getting along smoothly. The only strange thing was that, the heir who was supposed to be a deadly dangerous merciless bastard turns out to be a cheery gleeful guy. From there, their friendship began and since then they have a very strong of bonds. Trust being the most important factor in any kind relationship, is the thing which bonded them together.
With the lapse of time the high school came to an end. And the time came when the heir had to take the throne. But instead of taking the control of the gang, he chose to take charge of the family business. However there were many under the table works that had to be done. And Ling Sheng was the underboss for this purpose. He never appeared to be menacing or treacherous or any of that kind of person. Instead, he was kinda kindhearted and generous. Though growing up in an environment where bloods and lives costs nothing but a small tiny bullet, he had always valued lives of others. He had kept the monster caged inside him. And this sole attitude of his made him the gentleman he was. He always made Hayati feel comfortable and never disrespected or scared her in any way. And Hayati had always admired him for that.
Everything was going well and the heir wanted Hayati to be with him and if only that incident hadn't been occurred that night then she would have definitely been there. But with that unexpected night her life came to take a sharp turning point when she found herself pregnant. That night everything changed, and the only remnants of that night that she remembered was those dark alluring pair of eyes.
A chill ran through her spine as Hayati thought how she got mesmerised in those dark eyes a moment before.
"I think we should leave now. Aaron must be waiting for me." Hayati said as she got up to leave.
Han Momo also got up, "Oh yes my girl, you should go now it's getting late. Tomorrow is a big day for you and Aaron. We shouldn't spoil it. Let's head to home now."
"I'll get the car. You guys wait at the entrance." Ling Sheng said, heading towards exit.
"I just hope everything goes well tomorrow." Momo said to Hayati as they proceeded towards the entrance now.
It's been 2 years since that incident. After which Hayati returned to India to her mother. She'd been trying hard to get back to a normal life like before. And everything started to get back to normal slowly. It's only those same pair of dark eyes of Aaron that constantly reminds her of the darkness of that night but somehow she had came over it and right now she wanted to start again. And tomorrow is the day for one.
"He missed you" Momo spoke again.
"Tsk... Tsk... For the thousandth time Momo, we're only friends. There'd never been anything like that. Moreover, Aaron is also there now."
"If Aaron is the reason you are restraining yourself Hay-ti then trust me Hay-ti you are doing the biggest mistake of your life. He'd always respected you and cared for you no matter what the circumstances are. And same is for Aaron. You've no idea how much he'd blamed himself for that night. For not being there for you, for not protecting you. He'd as much of nightmares as you'd Hay-ti."
There came a beep of car horn when the two were talking and Ling Sheng had got the car. They both slid into the passenger seat and the rest of the drive went silent but comfortable.
