"Do you want this apple?"
These words were like the chiming of heaven's bells, offering salvation to the desperate Kyle.
Kyle immediately broke out of his trance and made eye contact with the young lady for the first time. After discreetly forcing down the saliva that had accumulated in his mouth, he instantly regained control over his mind.
Kyle let out a helpless smile as he replied, "How can I take it from a beautiful young lady like you? I am sure you were about to have it for yourself. Do go ahead and enjoy the fruit."
Seeing Kyle's abrupt change in attitude, the young lady was surprised for a moment.
"Are you sure about this? I still have more if you want any," she probed once again.
Hearing that this was just one of many apples in her possession, Kyle would be letting himself down if he continued to refuse!
"Then I shall not turn down your kind offer!" Kyle excitedly answered.
The young lady smiled as she retrieved another apple from one of the deep pockets on her trench coat, tossing it over to Kyle who easily caught it with one hand.
Kyle did not waste another moment before sinking his teeth into the apple, savouring the taste of sweetness that was spreading through his mouth.
The young lady let out a snicker upon seeing his honest actions, taking small bites out of her own apple at the same time.
"Are you travelling alone?" the young lady casually asked.
"Yeah, how about you?" Kyle answered in between bites.
"Well, I came to the Master Realm with my family to attend an event so we are heading back together now too," the young lady gave a tired smile.
"Don't want to go back? Do you want to stay in the Master Realm?" Kyle did not miss that look of melancholy on her face that was practically announcing to him about the fact that she was troubled.
The young lady hesitated a little upon hearing his question, seemingly thinking about how she should phrase her reply.
"Let's just say my family situation is a little complicated."
"I see," Kyle nodded nonchalantly.
Everyone had their own secrets, and he would not bother probing further since the other party was obviously unwilling to reveal more about themselves.
"What about yourself? Why did you go to the Master Realm?" the young lady tried to switch the focus to him in order to dispel the air of awkwardness.
"I am actually from the Master Realm, but I am migrating to Green Realm!" Kyle naturally saw no need to tell a stranger that he was exiled from the Master Realm.
"Migrating from the Master Realm to Green Realm?" the young lady exclaimed in surprise.
The Master Realm was not named this way for no reason.
If possible, anyone ambitious would want to move to the Master Realm from the Lower Realms since that was where the highest authorities were gathered.
Even if he wanted to reunite with his family who were in the Lower Realms, people would usually request for their family to move up to the Master Realm instead. Since this man was moving in the other direction, he must have been struggling to survive in the competitive Master Realm, and was thus trying to seek a simpler life in Green Realm.
In a way, the young lady could relate to him, since she had her own struggles even in the Green Realm.
Right at this moment, the Oasis Seeker was suddenly struck by a spatial storm, causing the ship to shake violently from the impact.
Distracted by her thoughts, the young lady was not keeping a tight grip on her apple, causing the apple in the young lady's hand to slip due to the sudden impact. She was slightly surprised, but did not attempt to reach out and save the apple even as it fell towards to the ground.
It was just an unfinished apple after all.
Born as a noble, she had been trained from young not to lose her poise for insignificant matters. After all, elegance and etiquette were the defining features that separated one of noble blood from one of common birth.
But the man beside her did not share her sentiments.
Kyle's eyes widened in shock as the apple slipped out of the young lady's fingers, slowly making its way towards the floor.
That was worth at least a copper coin, or in other words, a million gold coins!
Even if it did not belong to him, how could he allow such a precious item to fall to the ground in waste just like that?
[Spirit Pixies]!
Just as the apple was about to hit the ground, it came to a stop, hovering on the spot.
"This…" the young lady exclaimed in surprise as the apple floated back up, finally landing in her opened palm.
It was only after the apple had been safely passed into her hands that she was able to see the small ethereal figures dancing in the air behind it.
There were three of them, each barely three inches tall. They looked like small pixies that had translucent bodies, their wings flapping gently as they greeted her with a curtsy before dissipating into the air.
"Be careful with that, food wastage is no good!" Kyle chided casually as he stood up from his seat, preparing to return to his room after having finished the apple in his hand.
"Wait!" the young lady hurriedly called out upon seeing that he was about to leave all of a sudden.
Kyle turned towards her with a frown upon hearing that, "What is it?"
Damn it, in the end she still wanted something in return for the apple? I knew there were no free meals in this world!
"Your name! I have not gotten your name! I am Rachel, Rachel Pierce!" the young lady had yet to sort out her thoughts and could only blurt out whatever was on her mind.
Everything happened so quickly that Rachel was still unable to properly process everything.
Even though she was a mage herself, Rachel was actually unable to notice when Kyle had made his move just now.
No doubt she was not exactly the most talented of magi, but her eyes of judgement were what she had relied on all this time to survive.
Considering how Kyle must not have been prepared for the sudden impact either, his reaction and casting speed were unreal!
On top of that, Rachel did not feel the slightest ripple of magical energy being emanated from him, testament to the immaculate control of his magical energy.
These were traits belonging to high level magi!
Had he been aiming for her life instead of the apple, she would have died without even knowing what happened!
For all she knew, this random person whom she just met on the deck might even be a mage who was able to stand toe to toe against the Head of the Pierce Family, Anthony Pierce.
If that were to be the case, she should definitely try to establish good relations with him if possible!
Kyle shook his head helplessly upon hearing Rachel's request for his name.
No wonder she had come over and offered him a precious apple. It seemed that another young flower had fallen at the hands of his irresistible charm!
Such was the life of a man who was born attractive. It was just impossible for him to remain low profile no matter how hard he tried!
"I am Kyle, Kyle Wick." he answered without turning back.
But after a moment of contemplation, he quickly corrected himself. "Wait, that's not it. I am just Kyle, no Wick at the end."
He had already been removed from the Wick Family's register after all, so he really should start getting used to not mentioning his family name from now on.
Rachel could only watch as Kyle walked away and left the ship's deck, the scene from before still vivid in her mind.
