Chapter 12: Protective

"WHAT?!" Jiang Cheng's voice echoed on the walls of the Lotus Pier as he suddenly stood up from his chair, making it tumbled back. "Lan Xichen is back?!" he said, shocked, as he looked at his disciple who delivered of the news.

"Yes, sect leader!" the disciple answered and respectfully bowed.

Jiang Cheng's face lit up, which made his disciples shocked. This is the first time they saw their grumpy sect leader has a happy look on his face – his eyes are gentle and shining and his face soft as he smiled...

So beautiful... they suddenly thought, looking at their sect leader's peaceful smile. It's as if they could see a light shining behind him.

"He's finally back..." Jiang Cheng muttered, his smile went wider.

He's completely oblivious that his disciples' face flushed as they looked at him – their sect leader, full of admiration.

He fixed his face, but his smile is still plastered on his face. He turned to his dazed disciples. "Go to Gusu and inquire about where the GusuLan Sect Leader went, what did he do and why did he disappeared – " he told them.

"Yes!" they answered and immediately left.

"We'll go to Gusu while you stay here – " the leader of the group said. "Don't let anyone see the sect leader's smile - !" he told them.

"Yes!"

And so, the disciples that are originally scared of Jiang Cheng became deeply protective of him – with him completely oblivious of this.
