Chapter 110: All is Right

Kaldrek smiled at his giggling wife. He was relieved that she felt better now. He hated seeing her not happy. He had a huge desire to keep her always smiling brightly as if everything was alright in the world. Was not realistic, but nothing stopped him from trying.

He knew what that look on her face meant. She was thinking about children. That wistful look on her face was only there when she started thinking about her wishes for motherhood. Kaldrek knew that as much as he found himself wanting to get his wife pregnant, she desired it even more. He had a suspicion that motherhood might be one of her lifelong dreams.

It was a dream he had been coming to share. Fantasies about her holding a newborn of their own, not just Jayesh and Fayre's kid, had been a constant ever since they had approached the subject.

He leaned his mouth close to her ear and whispered to her so their friends could not hear, "Soon, love. All things have their time."

He was rewarded with a bright smile and her head leaning on his shoulder. She was definitely clingy… and he was loving every bit of it. He loved seeing her act like this, like he was hers and nothing could change that. Which was true – nothing could change that. He had been hers since they had met, even if he had not realized it. Not that he had loved her then, but she had definitely caught his interest. Which was, admittedly abnormal.

He was aware that it was her hair which had first made him notice her. It was not something he usually talked about, but Kaldrek had always loved watching fire and her vividly red hair had reminded him of the element. But he was sure that her smile had affected him even more and then he had discovered she had a wonderful personality. And though he could not pinpoint the exact date he had fallen in love; he was aware that he never had a chance of guarding his heart against his enchantress.

He smiled at the thought. He never really wanted, or needed, to guard his heart from her. She was as much in love with him as he was with her.

He jolted out of his thoughts as his best friend was bidding them goodnight. Kaldrek smiled at his king as he took his pregnant queen to bed. Fayre was obviously tired and could use the rest.

Kaldrek looked back at his wife. Zylvia gazed back up into his face with a totally adoring look on her face. Placing a kiss on her forehead, he slowly stood up, "Ready for bed, love?"

She nodded and continued her hug on his arm. He rather liked the feel of her squeezing him close. She always had a way of making him feel needed, he only hoped he gave her the same sweet feeling.

As soon as they were in the privacy of their room he turned and took her in his arms, dropping his lips to hers. It did not take long for her to respond, hands tangling in his hair, body pressing up to his.

He only broke the kiss when he felt her going weak in his arms from lack of air. "I love you, Zylv…" He breathed against her mouth.

She smiled at him sweetly, playing with the collar of his shirt, "I know, sweetheart, but I love hearing it."

Her lips moved forward slightly, catching his again. He tightened his embrace and scooped her in his arms, marveling at how perfectly she fit there. She giggled into his mouth as he prepared them both for bed.

He tucked her in before climbing in beside of her. Immediately, she wrapped around him tucking her head against his chest. She felt so perfect in his arms that he could not help but grin broadly. To think that for the rest of their lives they would be able to be like this… it was remarkable. Truly remarkable.

He placed a kiss on the top of her head, her soft hair tickling his nose. She was perfect. Not only was she remarkably beautiful, but she was sweet, kind, caring, and even had a sense of humor. Everything about her he could not help but adore. And she was his. All his.

She stirred in his arms and placing a hand on his head kissed him gently before snuggling back into his arms and chest. His grin grew even broader. Having her sneakily steal a kiss from him reminded him how much he loved her height, just a little shorter than he was. He did not have to lean down much to kiss her and even better she could easily access him for a kiss whenever she wanted.

He stroked her head gently, listening as she fell asleep, before dropping off himself. As long as he had his lady with him, Kaldrek could not help but feel that all was right in his world.
