A mature woman barely in her womanhood watched the imperial palace from afar from her place on the courtyard roof. Though the darkness of the night obscured most of her body and features, bits of moonlight managed to shine on her snow white skin. As she stared at the towering structure that was in the distance, her gleaming purple eyes raged with different warring emotions.
Her mouth moved as she made silent vows to herself. She clenched her hand so hard that her nails dug into her skin, causing the skin to break and blood to seep out. Lifting her hand to the dim light, she observed it with calm eyes. "Blood... so this is red, Shou?" It really was a beautiful color. Terrible, but still quite beautiful. She looked up in the direction of the palace once more and solemnly thought of something.
Her eyes, which had once been indecisive and hesitant, suddenly cleared, a new light in them, filling with the flames of determination and new promises. "Shou, everyone, I will bring retribution to those people who did this to us."
No matter what it would take.

"Why? Why are you so insistent on protecting me?" She frowned as she peered at the pale looking boy who laid weakly by her side.
He coughed several times before finally opening his black eyes and looking into hers. "Why, you ask?"
His dark eyes were deep and unfathomable, but there was a touch of helplessness in them. His dark, fluttering eyelashes still had a few drops of water left, giving him an appearance of solemnity. Like a man that came from the land of dream, sometimes he looked unreal and out of this world, while at other times, he looked like an ordinary man who seemingly lost a fragment of his soul.
"En." She simply didn't understand. Why would the man bearing the same symbol as the one who killed her entire family be willing to protect her to this extent?
He was suddenly closer to her. "Isn't it obvious?" He reached out his hand toward her and touched her face gently. Under her surprised gaze, his eyes burned with a deep intensity as he stroked her face. "Even if you are the strongest person in heaven and earth, no matter what, you are still a woman. My woman."
Here's a sneak peak of the second volume. There is only a week more until a mass release! I hope you're looking forward to it.
What do you think of the story so far? Love it? Hate it? Do you think Hu Zi can get her revenge? What was she planning when she stared at the palace? Who do you think the man in the sneak peak is? Why is Hu Zi with him?
