I went back on my route to leave the house through the guest bathroom. I thought of hiding the bodies, but if they enter and don't find them it's going to be obvious that there was an attack anyway… there was no way for me to clean all that blood.
I couldn't take the Pollard's body with me, it would be difficult and carrying a second body with us (once we kill Chambers) will only slow us down. Fortunately, Pollard's ability wasn't as troublesome as Chambers, and there were ways to deal with it.
With Alphas coming to the city and calling most of the animals it was difficult for Pollard to get control over them, and even if he manages to get it they have a body, they can be killed to prevent them from spying, and Dante can also notice if they get into his area.
For Chambers we don't have a countermeasure, at most there are some people like me and Dr. Harting that can know when he is there watching, but we have no way to block him.
That's why killing him was so important, but we have to make sure that a second Chambers doesn't appear on the NDR ranks. If another Pollard appears there is no problem, it might be even good if they waste some people trying to get that ability instead of one of those annoying defensive abilities.
'All clear, you can leave.'
At Rose's signal, I left the house through the bathroom window and got to the rest of my team.
"How did it go?"
Hayley asked while looking the blood on me.
"No problems, I took care of both guards before killing Pollard."
Milo nodded.
"Good, we need to move fast from now on. Even if they haven't shown any sign of communication between them the guards from the outside might notice and sound the alarm."
I agreed with him we were against time right now, sooner or later they will notice Pollard's body. We have to be sure that when that happens, we are already out of here with Chambers cold body.
We moved from bush to bush, and backyard to backyard, under Rose perfect leading we avoided all the patrols. She might not be suited for battle but in a moment like this is when she showed us the real value of her ability, there was no way we can do something like this without her.
…
Initially I thought that Chambers and Pollard were in the same standing in the NDR ranks, but after seeing the place where he sleeps it was clear that he was more important, his ability has proven to be far more useful to them, and according to that he had earned respect and influence only surpassed by Hamilton and Ramsey. They were the core of the operation after all, so there was no way for him to be more important than them.
Ramsey's house wasn't as big as this, but it was because he wanted it to be like that after, all this was his condo if he wanted a bigger house he would have it. For him, it was more important to be near the jail than having lots of useless space. I know this because we saw the place on our way here.
Chambers house was also a two-story house, but it was twice the one were Pollard was, and the security around it was a lot stricter too. We had to wait for a while to check the way the patrols moved around and near the house and to take a look at the guards posted around it.
While Rose did this we check the map, we needed to look for the best escape routes that we could find the main gate was out of question, there is the chance that we can go in and take chambers unnoticed but after looking at this place it was clear that doing that was going to be almost impossible.
As we waited for Rose, we checked a couple of sewers caps around, and as we thought they have been blocked. This was most likely done after the rat's invasion from last time.
This was the reason why we couldn't get into the base directly from the sewers, but now that we are in the surface, we are going to open one, so we have a quick escape route, in the case that something goes wrong. We dropped some food into the sewer, that was the signal for the rats to know that we were most likely going to descend there.
After getting our escape route ready, we meet with Rose.
"Three guards posted in each door, two patrols with two people each go around the house and five guards inside. This place is also part of the route of one patrol that comes from the jail area."
Rose was at my side, and I was repeating all she said to spread the information to the others.
The look on everyone face was solemn. This time wasn't going to end as fast as the time before. Milo was a seasoned police enforcer, he most likely has killed people before, and if he hadn't I don't think that he will doubt when the time comes, but Hayley and Mark haven't.
I focused my gaze on both of them.
"If we decide to go on a killing spree, do you think you both can handle it?"
Both fell silent, it wasn't a sign of doubt, but a sign that they were thinking about it, after all, it wasn't an easy question. I use my mind reading abilities to see what was going in their minds.
Mark's mind was in chaos, he never killed anyone before and had doubt about killing a human being. He was telling himself that he was just supposed to fend off people not killing them. He wasn't ready to do it.
Hayley, on the other hand, was calm, she was more worried about the reaction she would have after knowing that she killed someone. I remember my first, I didn't doubt about pulling the trigger at the moment, it was later when it hit me.
Without giving them time to answer, I started talking.
"Mark you protect Hayley and Milo, Hayley, use your ability to control them, using it together with my own slow they will have no chance to counter-attack or ask for help."
There was a doubt about Milo that I had to remove before continuing.
"Milo, I have to ask, besides guns can you fight in close quarters? We have to be silent."
I knew that he had a physical reinforcement ability, but I never saw him use it, even during the attack in the evacuation I never saw him use his ability.
"Yes, I have some training on it, it's just that I have more training with ranged weapons, so I'm used to them."
I nodded it was good to have someone else who can take them down.
"That's good, we both will be taking them down this is the plan…"
…
The plan wasn't something that I thought of, it was… effective but a little bloodier than what I wanted. Rose proposed and after thinking for a while and discussing it with the team we got to the conclusion that it was the better way to act.
Unlike before we knew that there was a communication chain between the different units on Chambers home. Pollard had only mindless goons, but Chambers had a couple of Servants, those that had their mind only partially broken like Emma and are capable of communicating and think by themselves to a certain extent.
Rose idea was to go into a killing spree taking down al the chain to prevent the reinforcement from coming, there was going to be a need to kill multiple goons in our way to Chambers, So we have to kill them in order. That way we prevent them from discovering us too early.
The first was to take the patrol that comes from farther, they might notice them disappearing but from what Rose saw they don't have to report to anyone in every round. The next target are the patrols around the house, and the guards on the front and the back. Finally, we get into the house and kill Chambers, freeze his body, and we leave…
Well, it doesn't sound that hard right?
