Quarantine Stories

Basically a bunch of personal events that has happened during the quarantine and realizations. Some family stuff, too. Read at your own bored discretion. The characters are mine. Yes, these events REALLY happened and I wrote down my thoughts. There should be absolutely zero spelling errors unless I feel lazy and don’t read over it. I changed the names of my family because of obvious security reasons. These stories are for you readers to read, of course, but also maybe to learn from. These are moments I get the urge to write and when I write about it, there’s usually some sort of moral lesson. Of course, this lesson was accidental but at the same time, it’s probably worth reading if there’s a chance you’ll learn something. Maybe I’ll create a “diary” after this whole Quarantine thing and I can tell the story of my life. I would absolutely LOVE to do that because I have so many diaries. As of the moment I am 15 years old, turning 16 in May of 2020. And no, I do NOT have 20/20 vision. My vision sucks, I wear glasses. Anyway, guys, enjoy this. The stories are relatively short, so no need to worry about a wall of words or start to think “when will it end?” Because you will find that it will end quite sooner than you could imagine. Though, from people who read novels on WebNovel, you may find that these are very short. I’m not very into writing things that haven’t really happened. That is the only reason I haven’t added to my far more fictional stories. I did NOT look over this (I actually just did and I’ve found that there are zero errors which makes me very satisfied with myself) so this probably has a few grammatical errors, but I’m sure you all will live. Anyway, I’ve come to have a little saying on this app and that is READ ON!

Well, during quarantine, I adopted a stray cat. One day, I noticed it near my backyard. It was really skinny and looked lost. I started feeding it, and gradually it became friendlier. Eventually, it moved in with me. We spent all that quarantine time together. It was a great companion, and it made my days at home so much more enjoyable.

I think 'The Decameron' is a great quarantine novel. It was written during a time of plague in Italy. The story is about a group of ten young people who flee the city to avoid the plague and spend their time in a villa, telling each other stories. It's interesting to see how they interact and keep themselves entertained during such a difficult time. Also, 'Love in the Time of Cholera' by Gabriel García Márquez has themes of love and isolation that are relatable to quarantine experiences.

During quarantine, I started learning a new language, Spanish. I used online courses and apps to practice. I made it a goal to have a short conversation in Spanish every day with myself or with my Spanish - speaking friends over the phone. By the end of quarantine, I could hold a decent conversation, and it opened up a whole new world of communication and culture for me.

One of the best quarantine stories I heard was about a family that started a daily talent show within their home. Each family member would showcase a different skill, from singing to magic tricks. It brought so much laughter and joy during the tough quarantine time.

It depends on how you define 'based on a real story'. Quarantine is a response to real health threats, but it might not have a specific fictional story behind it like in a movie or novel. It's more of a practical measure based on scientific and medical knowledge.

Sure. 'The Year of the Flood' by Margaret Atwood. It's set in a future world where a plague has hit, and the story follows different characters trying to survive. Then there's 'Severance' by Ling Ma. This novel is about a woman named Candace Chen who is living in a world dealing with a pandemic. It's a unique take on how one copes with such a situation. Also, 'My Year of Rest and Relaxation' can be considered in a way. The main character isolates herself in her apartment for a year, which has some parallels to quarantine life.

Well, my life in quarantine was full of changes. I was used to a busy social life before. But during quarantine, I became more introverted. I spent a lot of time on my balcony, just looking at the empty streets. I started to write a journal, documenting my thoughts and feelings every day. It was a really unique experience that made me re - evaluate my life.

In my quarantine life, it was a time of change. At first, I was a bit panicked as the world seemed to stop. But then I organized my daily routine. I would wake up early, do some yoga, and then focus on my hobbies like painting. I painted several pictures during quarantine, which was really fulfilling. It was also a time when I reflected on my life and decided to make some positive changes.
