Well, my FML life story involves a time when I was really excited for a job interview. I prepared for days, had all my answers ready. But on the day of the interview, I woke up late because my alarm didn't go off. I rushed to get there, looking a mess. And when I finally arrived, they told me they had already filled the position. It was just one of those days where everything seemed to go wrong.
I went to a new restaurant. I ordered a steak. When it came, it looked amazing. But as I cut into it, the knife slipped and the steak flew across the table and landed in a lady's purse. I was so embarrassed.
Well, here's one. I once went for an important job interview. I had prepared so much and was really confident. But as I was walking into the building, I tripped over a completely flat surface and fell flat on my face right in front of the receptionist. It was so embarrassing and I'm pretty sure it affected my performance during the interview. And of course, I didn't get the job.
From my FML life story, I learned to always have a backup plan. For example, after missing that job interview because of the alarm, I now set multiple alarms and have a backup way to get to important places in case of emergencies.
There was this time I went camping. I was trying to set up my tent. I accidentally tied myself up in the tent ropes and fell over. It took me ages to get free while my friends were in stitches.
Well, once I was in a hurry to catch the bus for an important meeting. I ran all the way to the bus stop, only to see the bus leaving just as I got there. Fml. It was so frustrating because I then had to wait for another half an hour and was late for the meeting.
I had a really bad day. I planned to surprise my friend with a homemade cake. I spent hours making it. When I was on my way to her place, I tripped and dropped the cake. It was completely ruined. And to make things worse, it started to rain and I got soaked while standing there looking at the smashed cake on the ground.
Often, fml situations are so absurd that they can't help but be funny. For example, when you try to put on your shoes in a hurry and end up with one of each type. It's a 'fml' moment but also makes you laugh at your own clumsiness.
A girl was going on a first date. She dressed up really nice and put on her favorite perfume. But when she got to the date location, she realized she had forgotten her wallet. So she couldn't even pay for her own coffee if needed. And she felt so awkward the whole time, trying to figure out how to handle the situation without looking too bad.
One memorable story was about a guy who was supposed to give a big presentation at work. He had his presentation on a USB drive. Right before he was about to start, he realized he had left the USB at home. He had to wing it and it was a total disaster.
