The Heartless King

The Heartless King

Princess Daphne wanted to become a widow. Or she would die trying. On the marriage proposal drafted on human flesh and written with fresh blood, the Northern King had made himself quite clear: the princess would marry, not as a queen but the lowest of concubines, not in a carriage but within a sealed coffin, not to be celebrated but to be paraded around as a war prize. If those terms were violated, he would personally prepare a grave for each and every one of her citizens. Some said the Northern King had slaughtered his entire family and signed a contract with hell itself. All Daphne wanted to do was to send him back there to pay for his crimes. The night of their wedding, she plunged her silver dagger squarely into his chest, waiting for the final heartbeat that never sounded. Only then did she realize, perhaps too late, that the heart of the Northern King never beat in the first place. —— She walked with resolution towards the man waiting in the shadows. Her steps were steady, and step by step, her fingers reached for her dress buttons, undoing them. "Your Highness, no!" Despite her nanny's shrill shrieks, she only continued, untying each of the knots that bound her chest. For a split second, or perhaps it was her imagination, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes. "What are you doing?" His voice was slightly hoarse as he stared at her white swanlike neck. His vision traveled downward, but he only jerked his face away. "There will not be war." Her skin tingled from the cold, and she could no longer tell if it was from just the frill night temperature or the proximity to him. "Do you hear me? There will not be a war." He closed the gap between the two of them, reaching out for her face. Instinctively, she stepped backward, anticipating his foul touch. But biting the inner sides of her cheek, she reminded herself that she had already decided to give up her honor. This is for the kingdom, she thought as she took a deep breath. A slender finger quickly swept a tear away from her cheek, a tear she didn't even know was there. And then he turned away, his back towards her. "I want a princess, not some cheap girl willing to give herself away so easily." He put his hand to his forehead in disappointment. "That takes away from the fun of it all." Her lips trembled, and her body shivered. "There will not be a war." "If Your Highness agrees to my terms, then indeed, there will not be a war." He tossed his fur cloak towards her. "Hurry and get dressed. Because if you keep me waiting, I might just change my mind. According to you, I am a barbarian after all, and who knows what savages might do?" —— Update Schedule: One chapter/day But if you want to incentivize me writing :3 20 Golden Tickets = 1 extra chapter 50 Golden Tickets = 3 extra chapters 100 Golden Tickets = 5 extra chapters Top 200 Power Stone Ranking = 1 extra chapter Top 100 Power Stone Ranking = 2 extra chapters Top 50 Power Stone Ranking = 3 extra chapters Top 10 Power Stone Ranking = 5 extra chapters Top 3 (Lol this won't happen so won't worry about that for now) Massage Chair = 1 extra chapter Luxury Car = 2 extra chapters Dragon = 3 extra chapters (The other ones won't happen so also won't worry about that for now) Super sorry if this seems super demanding or greedy ;-; I just never realized how much motivation I needed to keep going until I started writing. —— Cover Art: Cover designed by the amazing Turtleboiii! The Blood King

The Blood King

Hi, everyone. This notice is a bit late... well, about a year late, but what can ya do, right? Anyway, I just popped in this time to talk about the fate of this novel. I know there are a few people who are wondering if it's dropped or what. If you are one of the few who is dreading that possibility, well don't worry, I haven't dropped it. I'll be rewriting my first, relatively successful novel, "The Blood King". But it's not going to happen tomorrow, I mean, it took me a flipping year to get back to write this note. And the reason it's not progressing faster is that this is just one of many novels I'm working(or trying to work) on. I'm trying to make this rewrite the best version of this novel, which will also take a lot of time. All in all, what I'm saying is, I'm sorry for keeping you, this novel's readers, out of the know when it comes to the novel's fate, as well as for the long time it will take to have it up and running again. What I'm striving for in this rewrite is what every writer strives for. Outstanding characters that develop along with the story, an expansive world, tantalizing plot, fluid prose, and many more things that would allow for a great read. I'm not telling you to keep this novel in your library. As a reader myself, I know how much of an eyesore a giant cluster of novels is, so if you need to regain some peace in your library, get rid of this. Because when The Blood King rises again, it will appear in front of you once more. And then you can scoop this novel of mine back up! Thanks for your time, and thank you for reading! ... [Synopsis] Levi was the young master of a certain clan. He had a lot of friends, people would fawn over him wherever he went and his parents loved him. That was until the aptitude test that every child was required to take when they turn 7. The result of the test showed that he was utter trash, even among trash. From that day, all of his friends dissapeared and people only sneered when they saw him. But what turned his heart to ice, was that, the parents that loved him, looked at him in disdain and said "You do not deserve the name Azure! from this day forward, you will be stripped of that name and banished from the azure clan! now scram trash!" Needless to say, when he was kicked out from his clan, he was sneered at and bullied. This went on for five years, then, at the age of 12, he met a mysterious man. The man looked at him and said "You look sufficient. You are weak and alone. Do you seek strength?" Without hesitation levi replied coldly "Yes!" The man's voice rang out again "Even if it means becoming a demon hated by all?" He asked. "Aren't i already hated by all?" Levi replied. " Hahaha, then drink this blood of mine! Become strong enough to do as you please in this world!" *Disclaimer- the cover picture used for this novel is not mine, i did not make it, nor do i own it. all credit goes to it's creator.

Besides King Solomon, the animals are the important characters in this story. Through the power of the ring, Solomon can interact with them. Each animal has its own character and role. Some animals might be helpful and friendly, while others could be more cautious or even hostile. But they all contribute to the story. They are the ones that Solomon gets to know better, understand their ways, and use the knowledge he gains from them to display his wisdom.
