I once got a gym membership as a birthday gift from my well - meaning but clueless friend. I'm the laziest person when it comes to exercise. When I went to the gym for the first time, I got so confused by all the machines. I accidentally set the treadmill to the highest speed and ended up flying off it. Everyone stared at me while I was lying on the floor, all red - faced. It was so embarrassing but also really funny in hindsight.
One time at the gym, I saw a guy trying to lift weights way too heavy for him. He grunted and strained so hard that his face turned bright red. Then, suddenly, he lost his grip and the weights dropped with a loud clang. Everyone in the gym turned to look, but instead of being embarrassed, he just started laughing hysterically. It was so funny that soon the whole gym was laughing with him.
Once, a woman was using the treadmill and she had her earphones in. She was so into her music and workout that she didn't notice the treadmill was set at a really high speed. All of a sudden, she went flying off the back of it. Luckily, she wasn't seriously hurt and we all had a good laugh about it later.
Sure! One time at the gym, there was this guy who was trying to lift really heavy weights. He grunted and groaned so much that everyone in the weight area stopped to look. But when he finally managed to lift the bar, he lost his balance and the weights went crashing down. Luckily, he wasn't hurt, but his face was priceless, a mix of shock and embarrassment.
On my birthday, I received a gym membership. I went to the gym all excited. I entered the changing room and couldn't figure out how to use the locker. I tried pulling and pushing every part of it. After what felt like ages, I realized I was trying to open someone else's locker. The owner of the locker showed up and looked at me like I was crazy. I quickly apologized and ran off to find my own locker, feeling really stupid.
There was a man who got a gym membership because his doctor told him he needed to exercise more. He went to the gym all excited on the first day. He saw a row of bikes and just hopped on one without realizing it was a spin bike set for an advanced class that was about to start. When the class started, he was completely out of his depth, pedaling furiously and looking so confused. The instructor had to stop the class for a moment to help him adjust the settings. It was hilarious.
Often, you'll see funny things during group fitness classes. There was this one zumba class where a man who was clearly new joined. He was so off - beat with the music and was doing the moves in all the wrong directions. His flailing arms and legs made it look like he was in his own little world while the rest of the class tried to focus on the instructor. And then there are those who try to show off during yoga by attempting advanced poses they're not ready for and end up toppling over.
There was a time when we were doing long jump in gym class. One boy was so over - confident. He took a huge run - up and when he jumped, he landed flat on his back in the sandpit. His face was full of shock and then he started laughing at himself. It was really funny.
Sure. Once I saw a guy at the gym who was trying to lift really heavy weights. He grunted and strained, but when he finally managed to lift it up, he lost his balance and the weights went crashing down. Luckily, he wasn't hurt. He just looked around with a sheepish grin.
