The Novel's Professor

The Novel's Professor

A happy and fulfilled life, everyone wanted that. Rio was no exception, he too wanted to feel joy and fulfillment. But how many actually achieved that? He didn't know, but he knew that he was not part of those. Rio, a part time editor of a webnovel called, The Last Stand, transmigrated inside the world of the novel. Not as a main character, nor as a villain, not even a student. But as a professor. A simple extra, professor that was never even mentioned in the story. Through some circumstances, he was the mentor of the main cast of characters. Armed with knowledge of the future, treasures of the world, and skills of different origins. He would raise these students to their utmost as early as possible. He felt that there would be no problem. However, as time marches forward he realizes everything was not as simple as he thought. The plot, or the future, as he knew it was going further down the rails. The body he occupied had a mysterious identity. A higher existence watches over him. Realizing the implications, he gave up on staying low key and unknown. He will strive, live, and survive admist this world of cruelty. A world set in a modern futuristic setting where cults roam free, capitalism corruption rises, demons and other races exist. However, even if he survived and lived, will he even feel happinness and fulfillment? He didn't know, but he will live still. — The MC in this story might feel light hearted at first, but as the story progresses he will become more darker. The characters might seem like gary stuish, but don't worry there are plenty of reasons for that. The story does not just focus on demons, but more so on other humans. I have no plans to make this a harem story, and usual super MC. Romance is bleak, I, so far, have no intention on making a lovey dovey scene. Expect daily updates, as I upload a chapter per day. — The cover art is not mine, if the artist has any intent or wishes to take it down please inform me immediately and proper action will take effect. In a Japanese town, a boy named Hiroshi befriended a cat. But this cat was no ordinary feline. It had a mark on its forehead that looked like a curse symbol. As Hiroshi spent more time with the cat, he started having nightmares. In his dreams, the cat would lead him to a dark well. One day, while awake, he found himself being led by the cat towards that same well. He tried to resist, but the cat's eyes seemed to have a hypnotic power. When he finally reached the well, he saw a face in the water that was half - human, half - cat. Terrified, he ran away, but the cat always seemed to be waiting for him in the shadows.

Healing is another theme. Often, the man might be going through some tough times in his life, and the cat's presence helps him heal. In 'A Man and His Cat', the man's loneliness starts to fade away as he befriends the cat. It's like the cat is a balm for his soul. Also, acceptance is a key theme. The man accepts the cat as it is, with all its quirks, and the cat accepts the man too. They learn to live together and enjoy each other's company in harmony.

Well, in many such Japanese horror stories, the cat is a symbol of mystery and the unknown. So, it usually has some sort of supernatural power. For example, it can make the boy have nightmares or see things that aren't there. The boy, on the other hand, is usually naive or kind - hearted at the start, which makes him an easy target for the cat's influence. And the setting is often a traditional Japanese environment like a small village or an old house, which adds to the spooky atmosphere.

The life might be filled with both challenges and sweet moments. The gamer could struggle to balance gaming time and taking care of the cat, but also enjoy the cat's companionship during breaks. Maybe the cat even interferes with the gamer's gaming sessions in funny ways.
