FRay
Until he crashlands on the Wynne Farm near St Anne, Alderney, Edmund Bolton will have insisted the most prudent thing about himself is his medical degree and his willingness to fight fascists. But of course it’s that island, and that farm – and that family.
Aidan Wynne is tortured by the shame of others and tormented by a freedom he feels he can never possess. Until the handsome military doctor with far too much understanding and far too little self-preservation comes to turn his life on its head.
The war makes fighters of all affected, but none so much as the lovers and those who must love quietly. Often, the fray has less to do with weaponry and bloodshed, and everything to do with keeping tame a passion that seeks to send the world up in flames without burning oneself up in the process.
”Once more into the fray,
into the last good fight I’ll ever know.
Live and die on this day,
live and die on this day.”
Fray is created by Li Walt, an eGlobal Creative Publishing signed author.

[EXCERPT]
"That's Sofi! That's my daughter Sofi. Don't do anything to her, I beg of you. Please don't lay a hand on her, please."
He smiled cynically, then gestured to the doctor to free her straps.
"You know what to do. We are going to watch everything you do. You call the police or tell anyone about this, she dies. And you die. Someone will drive you home."
"This is nothing close to a good time! You are a jerk!"
She shouted at him as he walked out unbothered. The man in lab coat stayed a while longer, looking at her, then left.

When one peculiar evening an exploration trip goes wrong, Khachi, a 25-year-old volcanologist, is left frozen and stranded in a world that he comes to learn is the Spectral Domains.
The problem? That the Spectral Domains are nothing but folklore and myths trapped in a location that is people's imagination, yet here he was.
Unsure if the childhood stories of this foreign world are enough to get him back into the world he knows, Khachi finds every means to return. However, along the way, Khachi learns that there might be a more significant reason for his presence in the Spectral Domains. Or that if this new companion, Wen Baojing, a carefree human who claims to want to help him return, has another motive that consistently seems to both put and help Khachi out of danger.
Well, without reading the 'frankenst the graphic novel' myself, it's hard to say precisely. However, if it's based on the Frankenstein concept, it might show the creation process in a more visual and perhaps modernized way. The graphic novel format allows for unique interpretations of the original themes. It could explore the relationship between the creator and the created, and how society views this unnatural creation. There might also be new twists added to the well - known story.
As I haven't experienced 'frankenst the graphic novel' first - hand, it's difficult to name the exact main characters. However, in a Frankenstein - inspired graphic novel, the main character is often the creator, who is driven by ambition or curiosity to create life. Then there's the created being, which is usually a complex character, dealing with its new - found existence, often facing rejection and trying to find its place in the world. There may also be other characters that add depth to the story, such as those who discover the creation and react to it.
For a work to be considered a graphic novel, it usually has a longer narrative arc, more in-depth themes, and higher production values in terms of art and printing. Also, it's often targeted at a more mature audience.
A 'graphic weight graphic novel' could refer to a graphic novel that has a certain 'weight' in various aspects. It might imply a novel with a substantial amount of content, either in terms of the story's complexity, the depth of the characters, or the volume of the graphical elements. For example, some epic graphic novels like 'Watchmen' are 'weighty' in that they deal with complex moral and political themes, have multi - dimensional characters, and are filled with detailed and thought - provoking graphics.
In a graphic novel, graphic weight is basically how certain elements stand out or have more impact visually. It could be a big, bold image or a prominently placed piece of text that catches the reader's attention and conveys significance.
A class a graphic novel often has high - quality art. The illustrations are detailed, expressive, and enhance the story. For example, in 'Maus' by Art Spiegelman, the simple yet powerful black - and - white drawings add depth to the harrowing tale of the Holocaust. It also typically has a well - crafted story. The plot should be engaging, with well - developed characters and a clear narrative arc. Good pacing is crucial too, keeping the reader interested from start to finish.
The 'Orpheus and Eurydice Graphic Novel' is a fascinating piece. It likely presents the classic myth in a visually engaging way. The illustrations would play a crucial role in bringing the story to life. For example, the descent of Orpheus into the underworld to retrieve Eurydice could be depicted with great detail, showing the dark and eerie landscapes of the underworld.
Some essential graphic techniques in a graphic novel include panel layout. Different panel sizes and arrangements can control the pacing and flow of the story. For example, a series of small panels might speed up the action, while a large, full - page panel can be used for a dramatic moment. Another important technique is the use of line work. Thick lines can denote strength or importance, while thin, wispy lines might suggest delicacy or mystery. Also, shading and coloring play significant roles. Darker shading can create a sense of depth or gloom, and the color palette can set the mood of the entire story, like using warm colors for a happy or energetic scene and cool colors for a somber or cold atmosphere.
The 'graphic weight' in a graphic novel can refer to the visual impact or emphasis created by the graphics. For example, a large, detailed, and darkly shaded image may have more graphic weight than a small, simple, and lightly colored one. It can also relate to how the graphics draw the reader's attention and contribute to the overall mood and pacing of the story.
