The Auspicious Nights

The Auspicious Nights

WFP#37 BRONZE WINNER COMPLETED # UNDER EDITING It was a bright and sunny day. Okay. Sorry about that. It was not a bright and sunny day rather a dark and stormy night even worse was the pelting heavy rain that beat onto earth with a fury enough to rival the battle of the Greek gods. The stars that had originally decorated the sky during the earlier part of the night were no longer visible. The full moon whose brightness had outshone the twinkling stars was now pitifully hiding behind the heavy dark cloud. If one could understand the language of nature, its terrified cry of sorrow could be heard. In the middle of a forest stood a majestic castle whose architecture outshone every other thing that existed near and far from it for almost a hundred miles. This was the castle that no one had access to except the owners who were made up of a small family of six. As the rain fell with an increase in speed every second that passed by, a slender figure could be seen lying in the center of a humongous bed. The slender finger could be seen tugging at the duvet trying to disappear within its warmth. Long brown curly hair was spread neatly on the pillow as the small face disappeared under the heavy purple duvet. A few minutes passed by with the slender body sleeping peacefully without any disturbance. When the clock struck midnight, everything began to change. The once majestic castle that shone brightly was shrouded by a thick and heavy fog such that it became invisible to ordinary eyes. .......@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@........ One stormy night changed her fate forever. She was initiated into a world she knew nothing about. Zamarad woke up feeling strange but paid no heed to it. Don't touch her, she is my Queen! Come closer baby, you are mine. Zamarad! Wait for me! You shall carry my offspring. Wait until I conquer you, heart, body, and soul. No... please let me go! I don't want to be a part of your world! She cried. Her bulging stomach was evidence of how real everything was! Will she accept her fate? NIGHTS OF HALLOW

NIGHTS OF HALLOW

~•No Escape•~ "Are you running away from me, my sweet girl" spoke a voice in the hallway that made her stop in her tracks. The hallway had turned dark with only the wall lamps that burned brightly casting the shadow of the man on the floor as he slowly emerged from the other end. "What are you doing here, your majesty," She said and bowed immediately as she saw him approach her with slow but steady steps. "You haven't answered me, sweet" The man said with a sweet smile that made her wary and he heard the way her heart skipped a beat. He stood before her and used his index finger to raise her chin. He tilted his head as he gazed into her green eyes that looked back at him with fear. He took a step forward closing the distance between them and his eyes narrowed when she took a step back, but that didn't stop him from cornering her. "Did you think you can escape from me?" He continued to question and she didn't miss the mockery behind his words. "I…I" she felt her words tied to her tongue because of the man's daunting aura. She felt him trace her forehead with his finger down to her jaw. He continued moving his hand down to her neck and to the top of her swell and her thudding heart hitched when his hand continued to stay there. "Did you think you can escape from me?" He bent towards her as he spoke. His breath fell on her neck which sent a jolt that traveled down her body. "I told you, you're tied to me and me to you" _______________________ Perdita Kartar was a winsome yet strange young lady. She had an appealing beauty with her green eyes that invoked and impelled anyone who gazed into them. She had fooled her villagers so she could live and protect herself and her remaining family from the night creatures and also humans. But what was bizarre of all, was that Perdita had a secret she shared with no one. She had lived in the village since she was little, and over the years, she had been discreet with each move she made. Unfortunately, things didn't go as she planned. Despite her cautious decorum and fight to stay out of sight, a pair of glacial red eyes falls on her, which followed and refused to leave her out of sight.

Just a maid caught in a castle or more. That's when he comes in. Prince Demian Lemarke. The Prince who is allegedly cursed, devilish power swelling under him, around his veins. He has big plans and he would allow her even more. She would be Queen, she wouldn't be tied to the name of anyone else. She would own herself. She would be Sorine, not the lover of the Crown Prince, not his pet but herself. She would own herself. Sorine gets caught up in the tangle of a Royal Mess, unable to choose between her old trusty love with Eric who is now appearing hopeless, and Prince Demian who had saved her life‌ while planning to kill the very king who had threatened her life to usurp the throne. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Who are you?" The dark burgundy eyes glinted under the cover of the shadow cast by the yellow lamp and the eyes flicker like another flame along the darkness. This man just witnessed an intimate exchange between a maid and the Crown Prince. The man steps out of the darkness and she gasped quietly. It was no normal man but the younger son of the King, and brother to her lover— Prince Demian. Better known as the Demon Prince for his tumultuous temper among the golden walls of the castle. "Don't mind me, darling" He ran a rugged hand through his hair, casting light along the black markings of wings— angel wings, that ran along his left side. His eyes glinted when he continued, "I am just a good ol' voyeur spying on my brother's sins." ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Disclaimer: Cover is taken from Pinterest. Characteristics of Prague spy novels? Well, first, they tend to use Prague's cultural and political history. For example, the Cold War era had a big impact on the city, and this is often reflected in the novels. The characters in these novels are usually quite resourceful. They need to be to navigate the dangerous world of espionage in a city like Prague. There's also a strong sense of place. You can almost feel the cobblestones under your feet as you read about the spies' exploits. Another thing is the use of local languages and dialects which adds authenticity to the stories.

The architecture of Prague also plays a part. The old, gothic buildings with their dark corners and hidden passages seem like the perfect setting for ghostly happenings. For example, the catacombs beneath the city might be the source of some spooky stories. People imagine the spirits of those buried there still lingering. Also, the religious history of Prague has influenced these stories. Tales of saints and sinners, and the idea of the afterlife, all contribute to the rich tapestry of Prague ghost stories.
