The story takes place in a world of civilized anthropomorphic animals with a cultural divide between the preys and predators. Yuka the Mouse is a miniature and modest high school student from the Aichi Prefecture. Her life is going nowhere until she meets Toru the Bear, a furry, overweight predator with a passion for cooking. Yuka takes an instant disliking to Toru and the spiteful and cowardly ways he learnt during his years in Tokyo. However, when a lion tries to hit Yuka, Toru springs to the rescue. Yuka begins to notices that Toru is actually rather timid at heart. But, the pressures of Toru's job as a predator leave him blind to Yuka's affections and Yuka takes up making music to try an distract himself. Finally, when cold-blooded class representative, Nozomi the Rabbit, threatens to come between them, Yuka has to act fast. But will they ever find the tender love that they deserve?
