The Demon’s Bride

The Demon’s Bride

*Slow Burn Historical Fantasy Novel* Elise had about to change into the dress that was lying on the corner of her bed when she heard a knock lightly calling from her door. Curious, she turned the door knob only to have a tall man towering in front of her. “Master Ian!” She called. Ian smiled with the usual mischievous smirk that he always used. His crimson eyes trailing a little over her room and spotted the black dress over her bed and shifted his eyes over to the woman in front of him. He stepped forward and spoke. “Where did you acquire that dress?” “Mr. Harland gave it to me.” Elise replied and strained her neck to see Ian’s brows knitted in its elegance. “Do you know why a man would love to give a woman a dress?” He gave the riddle that she always had to think twice before replying. But this time, she found no answer and instead shook her head. “I don’t know.” His grin grew bewitching as though something had stirred deep inside the scarlet eyes that he had. He slowly slid his hand over the collar of her dress, sending a cold shiver that startled her for a moment due to its freezing temperature. After unbuttoning the first two buttons on her collar, he tilted his head down, whispering to her ears. “Because they want to be the one to undress the cloth.” He paused and kissed her neck, turning the pale skin to red before retracting his move to fix his eyes on her and leisurely replied. “Unfortunately, you can’t wear the dress over there with this.” He chuckled and passed a box over to her hand. “And the fortunate news is I prepared a dress for you.” Elise was a cursed little girl who could see ghosts. Her family hated her and threw her from one adoptive family to another. However, misfortune didn't act alone. When she was brought up by her aunt, she was sold as a slave. When she had thought she would become nothing but a sacrifice to the sorcerer, she was saved by a man whose identity was far different than a normal mythical being. *** This book is ORIGINAL and it is not Translation Join Author's discord: https://discord.gg/YPKueb4

However, because of a sudden illness, her husband died within a month, and Charlotte's life came to a sudden halt. ‘She became the curse for her husband that he died young.’ ‘She is the one, who killed her husband.’ ‘She should have died with her husband.’ Numerous such things Charlotte would hear from the people around her in the palace when she decided to take her life. However, was it that easy to die? Édouard Bourdillon was the eldest son of King Christian Bourdillon of the Kingdom of Escana. He decided to marry the widow of his late younger brother so that he could take over the Beromont territory which his brother possessed. But was this the only reason he wanted to marry Charlotte? ~~~~~~~~ "What are you doing?" Terrified Charlotte asked as she saw Édouard unbuttoning his shirt. "I am hot, so I am taking off the shirt," Édouard said and reached for the last button. "But it's cold weather," Charlotte said and knitted her brows. "Not here, Charlotte. Your mere presence around me makes me hot," Édouard said and took off the shirt. "Ahhh!" Charlotte quickly brought her hands in front of her eyes and covered them. From the gaps between her fingers, she peeked out of curiosity. A lump formed in her throat as she saw his perfectly carved body with a few scars on the chest and near the abdomen. Charlotte saw him approaching her and she tightly shut her eyes. A few seconds later, when she realized everything was so quiet, she opened her eyes again and found him before her. She promptly moved back and hit the wall behind her. She thought to leave the room when Édouard caged her petite body between his arms. "Are you going to—" "Yes. I want to be wild with you tonight, Little Cherry," Édouard said with a smirk, and the next second, he lifted her in his arms. ~~~~~ *Cover art is mine. Well, 'knitting novels' might be a creative way of saying that an author is building a story in a very detailed and somewhat slow - paced manner. Just as knitting requires patience and attention to each stitch, writing a 'knitting novel' could mean paying close attention to every element of the story. For example, the author might take a long time to develop the backstories of the characters, or they might intricately weave different sub - plots together, like the threads in a knitted fabric.

There may not be a distinct category known widely as 'knitting novels', but many classic novels can be related to this concept. Take 'War and Peace' by Leo Tolstoy. Tolstoy meticulously constructs the story, delving deeply into the characters' emotions, the historical context, and the complex relationships. It's as if he is knitting a vast tapestry of life during that era. Another example could be 'Pride and Prejudice' by Jane Austen. She carefully stitches together the social nuances, the love stories, and the family dynamics, much like knitting a detailed pattern.

One tip is to create complex and mysterious characters. Give them secrets and motives that are not immediately obvious. Another is to build a sense of place that adds to the mystery, like a spooky old mansion or a fog - covered small town. Also, use red herrings to mislead the reader, for example, introduce a character who seems suspicious but is actually innocent.

Well, knitting in fantasy novels is quite diverse. There are instances where knitting is a form of art that only certain magical beings can do. For instance, elves might be the best knitters, creating the most intricate and beautiful patterns that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also hold magical significance. It could also be a way for a character to pass the time during long journeys or while waiting for something important to happen. And the knitted items can sometimes be used as keys or triggers for magical portals or events.

In knitting mystery fiction, one of the common elements is the element of surprise. The reader should be constantly surprised by new revelations. The use of foreshadowing is also common. It gives the reader a hint of what's to come but not too much. And, of course, there is always some sort of conflict, whether it's between the detective and the suspect or among the characters who are all hiding something.
