Bagai roda yang berputar sekencang - kencangnya. Dia berhenti sekolah, seorang anak laki-laki yang cerdas, ceria juga ramah. Kini berubah menjadi seorang anak lelaki yang pemalas dan dekil. Ketampanannya yang begitu di puja-puji oleh para gadis kini telah hilang. Makan pun tak teratur, sehingga tubuhnya bagaikan ranting pohon yang mengering. Pipi yang semula cabi kini berubah tirus, mata yang tajam bercahaya sekarang begitu sayup dan tanpa arah. Bibir manisnya kini mengering, lehernya terlihat panjang dan terdapat lengkukan tempat telur di tengah bahu-bahunya. Suatu hari, seorang wanita dewasa kira-kira berumur 27 tahun seumuran dengan mendiang kakaknya itu mendatanginya dan memintanya untuk menikahinya. Betapa terkejutnya Gin. Bayangkan anak laki-laki berumur 15 tahun menikah dengan wanita 27 tahun, mereka terlihat seperti ibu dan anak. Dia pun sama sekali tidak mengenal wanita itu, bahkan tidak pernah bertemu sama sekali sebelumnya.
