To Find Edward

To Find Edward

Marguerite is oblivious as she folds Arthmael's body into beautiful silhouettes. Following the familiar choreography, she dances relentlessly. Grand Jete! Penche! followed by a series of graceful pas de chats. All concatenated in front of the enthralled emperor. When the music reaches the outro in a full stop, Marguerite falls gracefully on the floor in a pose. She stays there and waits for the king to tell her she can leave. She stays on the ground for a long time but hears nothing from him. Wondering if she did anything wrong, she wants to lift her head to look at the king's face, but quickly remembers the warning he gave her. If she disrespects him any further, who knows what he might do to her. She suddenly feels her chin being lifted, her eyes meet the hazels of Demian. She forgets to breathe and falls from her pose onto the floor. She doesn't have time to regain her senses before two strong arms lift her off the floor. She is about to question him on his weird behaviour when her mouth is suddenly covered by his in a kiss. ------------------------------------------------- Marguerite is very talented. One Night in London: Dalton and Edward

One Night in London: Dalton and Edward

No one's ever expected much from Dalton Irving, the reserved, sheltered, and bookish heir to the family fortune. So in order to secure their place in London's society, the Irvings have arranged for Dalton to marry the brother of a viscount. A man who comes from a family with a title and with quite the scandalous reputation. A man Dalton doesn't know. A man who's very publicly announced that he doesn't want to get married, least of all to Dalton, right in the middle of their engagement ball.

In an attempt to flee whispered words and sudden gossip and unexpected hurt from venomous words, Dalton finds comfort from the very last person he would have expected -- the wry, reclusive, and unsocial Edward Whitman, Duke of Wellingham.

Edward Whitman doesn't like most people on his best days. They're dull and predictable and care only about money and status. Tonight, however, is the engagement ball for his best friend's brother, so he'll make an appearance to assure the night's success even if the idea of anyone marrying young Dalton Irving puts a strange ache in the pit of his stomach.

But after Dalton's intended makes a mess of the ball, Edward suddenly finds himself alone with the young man, drawn to his wide-eyed curiosity and kindhearted generosity, his rambling and odd musings. Neither of them can imagine what this evening has in store for anyone, and all it takes is one night in London to change everything.

The 'Jekyll and Hyde' story is centered around the concept of split personality. Dr. Jekyll represents the civilized, good - natured side. He's a man of science, respected in society. However, when he becomes Mr. Hyde, it's like a completely different being emerges. Hyde is brutish, immoral, and has no regard for the norms of society. What are the common themes in Jekyll and Hyde Utterson x Jekyll fanfiction?
1 answer

Secrecy is another theme. Jekyll's secret about his transformation into Hyde is a central part of the story. In the fanfiction, Utterson's attempts to either uncover or protect that secret are often explored. How he deals with the knowledge that his friend is hiding something so huge is a major part of the narrative in many of these fanfictions. This can lead to a lot of tension and drama in the relationship between Utterson and Jekyll.
