One common theme is love and romance. Often, the OC will fall in love with a historical figure or another original character within the Versailles setting. Another theme is power struggles. Since Versailles was a place full of political intrigue, the OC may get involved in the fight for power. Social status is also a theme, as the OC may be trying to improve or deal with their position in the highly stratified Versailles society.
