St Peter's life was full of significant events. He left his fishing nets to follow Jesus. He witnessed many of Jesus' miracles and teachings. After Jesus' crucifixion, Peter became a leader among the apostles. He preached the gospel far and wide. He was eventually martyred in Rome, crucified upside down as he felt unworthy to die in the same way as Jesus.
St Peter was a fisherman. He was one of the first disciples called by Jesus. He was impulsive, for example, he tried to walk on water towards Jesus but then doubted and started to sink. He was also very important in the early Christian church. Jesus gave him a special role, saying he would be the rock upon which the church was built.
