Why are gay smut stories not acceptable in mainstream culture?
Such stories objectify people and reduce relationships to just sexual encounters, which is unfair to the LGBT+ community who are striving for equal rights in all aspects of life including respect in relationships, not just sexualized representation. Also, it can make others who are not part of the community have a wrong and one - dimensional view of them.
Mainstream culture values respect and propriety. Gay smut stories often involve vulgar and inappropriate sexual content which goes against these values.
In a family - friendly and inclusive mainstream environment, we aim to promote positive images and stories. Smut stories, whether about gay or straight relationships, are not in line with the goal of building a harmonious, respectful and positive cultural environment. They can also have a negative impact on the psychological development of the public, especially the youth.
