There was this one time in dental hygienist school when we had a special guest lecturer. She was a very experienced dental hygienist who had worked in different parts of the world. She told us stories about treating patients in remote areas where dental resources were scarce. She had to be really creative, like using natural herbs to soothe toothaches when she didn't have the proper medications. Her stories inspired us to be more adaptable and resourceful in our future dental hygienist careers.
In dental hygienist school, there was a story about a group project. We had to create a presentation on oral health in different age groups. Our team was a bit of a mess at first, with everyone having different ideas. But as we started researching together, we found some really interesting facts about children's dental care. For example, how some kids are more likely to brush their teeth if their toothbrush has their favorite cartoon character on it. Through that project, we not only learned a lot about dental hygiene but also how to work as a team better.
One of my friends in dental hygienist school had a really funny story. During a practical exam on patient communication, he was so nervous that he started talking about his love for pizza instead of dental hygiene procedures to the 'patient'. It was quite embarrassing at that moment but later became a hilarious memory among our classmates.
