Let me tell you a short story about a group of animal friends. There were a mouse, a cat, and a dog. They all lived in a big old house. At first, the cat chased the mouse, but then they realized that they could be friends. The dog helped them to see that they were all different but could still get along. They worked together to keep their house clean and warm. They shared their food and had great times together, teaching kids that friendship can overcome differences.

There's the story of 'The Haunted Doll'. A boy got a very old doll from his grandmother's attic. At night, he could hear the doll whispering his name. She gets more and more scared as the calls keep coming. When she finally calls the police, they tell her to get out of the house immediately. As she runs out, she looks back and sees a figure in the window of the child's room. It turns out that the calls were coming from inside the house all along.

For kids, there's this story. A mouse saw a big piece of cheese in a mousetrap. It thought it could be really clever and just take the cheese without setting off the trap. So it tiptoed over. But as soon as it touched the cheese, the trap snapped shut on its tail. The mouse ran around in circles, pulling the mousetrap with it. Another story is about a little girl who painted her face like a clown with her mother's makeup. She thought she was going to a circus and started doing circus tricks in the living room. And there's a puppy that chased its own shadow all day long, thinking it was another puppy that was really good at hiding.

Once there was a little boy who thought his dog could talk. Every time he made a noise, he believed the dog was answering him. One day, he asked the dog if he liked his new shoes, and the dog just barked. But the boy said, 'I'll take that as a yes!'

One popular Hindi kids short story is 'The Lion and the Mouse'. A little mouse accidentally wakes up a sleeping lion. The lion is angry and wants to eat the mouse, but the mouse pleads for mercy and says it can help the lion one day. Later, the lion gets trapped in a hunter's net and the mouse, true to its word, chews through the net and frees the lion.

'Rudolph the Red - Nosed Reindeer' is a well - known Christmas story. It's about a reindeer who is different but in the end uses his unique feature to save Christmas. Kids can relate to Rudolph's feeling of being left out at first and then being a hero. There are board books with simple text for younger kids and more detailed versions for older children, all of which are great for reading aloud.

Short story: There was a Christmas elf named Bob. He was in charge of painting all the toy cars red. But one day, he accidentally used green paint. When Santa saw the green cars, he laughed and said they could be special Christmas edition cars for naughty kids. Bob felt relieved and everyone had a good laugh about it.

There was a pumpkin on a porch on Halloween. It suddenly came to life and started to roll down the street, making all the kids laugh.

One interesting story is 'The Little Red Hen'. The little red hen finds some grains of wheat and asks her friends for help in planting, harvesting and baking bread. But they all refuse. In the end, she does all the work herself and enjoys the delicious bread alone. This story teaches kids about the value of hard work.
